Nature and Scope
Under the direction of the Director of the Childcare Center, the Teacher Aide will be responsible for helping facilitate the day to day operations of the program. The Teacher Aide will help the teacher monitor and ensure safety and program guidelines in their classroom, provide a safe, happy, and positive environment for all children, plan and implement all activities appropriate for children ages 0-5 years, and assist with DRDP assessments as needed.

Compensation Philosophy:
We have 6 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate successful candidate for 6 years of relevant experience

Qualifications
Education:
Six (6) completed units of early childhood education
and
enrolled in at least 2 semester units at a college until fully qualified or possess a teaching credential.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Title 22 Regulations
Planning and implementing curriculum for children ages 0-5 years
Current principles and practices of early childhood education in a play-based, family centered program
Family inclusion and education
Completing observations related to the DRDP
Other Requirements:
DOJ and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
Eight (8) hours of Preventative Health and Safety Training within three (3) months of hire

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Arrange and decorate classroom and maintain a comfortable environment
Determine cognitive, social, and physical needs of children
Develop a curriculum plan and carry out all indoor and outdoor activities
Organize and assemble materials for a variety of learning experiences
Create periodic progress reports regarding development of individual children
Assist children with self-help skills
Supervise snack and meal times
Set-up classroom naptime
Direct and supervise Teacher's Aide
Enforce standards of behavior with approved discipline techniques
Monitor children's interaction and help solve conflicts
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Must have minimum of twelve units of Child development or Early Child Development Education
Toddle teacher must include three units in Infant-Toddler Development

Key Responsibilities
* Supervise preschool children at all times while ensuring compliance with licensing, safety, and accreditation standards.
* Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that meet the needs of the whole child and reflect individual interests.

Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
* Minimum of 12 core semester units in ECE plus 3 units in Infant/Toddler studies.
* Eligible for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Child Development Program Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
* Experience working with preschool children in a licensed childcare center.
* Compliance with all health, background check, and immunization requirements for childcare employment.
Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred:
* Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Familiar with California Infant/Toddler Preschool Foundations and California Health and Human Services' Community Care Licensing Division Title 22, Division 12.

The Tustin Family Campus program is an 18 month residential treatment program serving 15 mothers with up to 32 children. All residents have open Child and Family Service cases in the County of Orange. These mothers are working to reunify with their children while at the same time addressing their histories with addiction and mental health. Our treatment team works closely with Orange County Social Services, Orange County Mental Health and Family Court to ensure successful case plan completion and reunification. Clients receive substance abuse counseling and education, counseling and education in parenting and life skills as well as individual and group therapy for both mothers and children. The goal for our clients is that they graduate with custody of their children, affordable housing and a steady income.
The Childcare Parenting Specialist will assist with the Parenting Skills Program, a family centered program, which has the goal of helping parents to provide a healthy and safe environment for their children and to maximize their children's emotional and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Child Care Parenting Specialist are as followed:
Provide 1:1 counseling to each client, introducing behavioral approaches to child guidance.
Complete clear concise and timely documentation.
Facilitate regularly scheduled activities to promote mother/child bonding such as Mommy and Me Groups, story telling, music groups, arts and crafts.
Facilitate Evidence Based Curriculum groups such as Nurturing Parents and Strengthening Familes.
Oversee and provide guidance to mothers who are assigned to childcare duties as part of their program activities.
Assist mothers in obtaining safe, quality off-site child care when required, while still in residence or exiting from the program.
Assist mothers with school communications, parent teacher meetings, IEP's.
Assist mothers in locating transportation to and from school as required.
Participate in team and staff meetings and in-service training.
Other duties as assigned.
Evening and weekend hours are required.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
BA degree in Human Development, Early Childhood Education, or comparable subject matter.
4 years experience in a child care setting can be substituted for the education requirement.
Experience working in a residential treatment environment preferred.
California Driver's License required with proof of insurance.
