Key Responsibilities:
As a Substance Use Counselor, you will be essential in guiding patients through their treatment journey and fostering recovery from Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). This role will focus on community engagement, conducting mobile outreach in collaboration with hospitals, emergency departments, and health centers. It will also involve partnering with local providers and government officials, as well as:
Leading individual and group counseling sessions with compassion and professionalism.
Designing, managing, and documenting treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
Facilitating group or family therapy sessions as required.
Keeping thorough, clear, and timely documentation on patient care, progress, and any incidents.
Conducting initial and ongoing patient assessments.
Determining the necessity of referrals to additional programs or external resources.
Coordinating aftercare plans to support long-term recovery.
Providing immediate crisis intervention services when needed.
Managing patient cases to ensure personalized, high-quality care.
Serving as a liaison between patients and referral sources.
Compensation for roles at Lawrence CTC varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Lawrence CTC provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Massachusetts as set forth below.

Calculated Salary Range for the role: $31.00 - $38.00 per hour

Required Education:
Master's Degree in a relevant field, or one of the following credentials: CAC, CAS, CADC, CRC, LADC, LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.

* Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities.
* Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
* Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery.
* Knowledge of evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and relapse prevention techniques.
* Documentation experience, including maintaining clinical notes, treatment plans, and progress updates in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
* Familiarity with state regulatory standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission standards).
* Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team with medical staff, case managers, and peer support specialists.

You Will:
Begin initial assessment for all referrals within 24 hours of referral, including a mental status and risk assessment of the referred child and family situation.

Assist caregivers in stabilizing the behavior of children and adolescents, including the development of Risk Management Plans and facilitating the involvement of Crisis Services when required.

How You Will Contribute:
The Therapist is responsible for providing individual and group therapy sessions for clients in a specialized Outpatient facility. Position is responsible for assessing the therapeutic needs of the individuals and families, and for developing appropriate treatment. Therapists act as the primary contact for clients and families throughout the treatment process and serve as a client advocate with the treatment team. Position acts as a liaison with referral sources, clinical partners, and individuals to coordinate care throughout the treatment process.
Essential Responsibilities:
Demonstrates a high level of clinical skill in assessing the clinical needs of clients, determining appropriate interventions, and conducting individual and group therapy sessions in accordance with these needs.
Completes psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans and other reports required for each client in compliance with State, accrediting bodies, quality guidelines and payor source guidelines.
Conducts weekly individual and family therapy sessions for assigned caseload.
Monitors behavioral interventions for each client and provides skills coaching as needed.
Conducts specialized groups as assigned based on education, training, and experience; supervises or co-leads groups with staff or interns when appropriate.
Selects appropriate interventions to meet the clinical needs of individual clients.
Maintains therapeutic relationship with clients using praise and other reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors and attitudes.
Sets limits and hold boundaries in a kind and firm manner
Demonstrates an understanding of identifying abuse/neglect in client population.
Demonstrates effective verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation, involving other staff as needed.
Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate client care from admission through discharge.
Attends weekly clinical, consultation and business meetings; present cases to be discussed as pre-assigned.
Completes documentation in a timely and accurate manner reflecting ongoing assessment of client's clinical presentation and behaviors.
Communicates client progress with the referral source, family, parent, or guardian informed of treatment goals and plans, as appropriate.
Documents in accordance with policies and procedures services provided, incident reports, shift reports, or department reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Communicates with referents, residents, and families appropriately and effectively.
Uses the referral process to build relationships with new referents and engages in collaboration with referents.
Addresses residents, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner.

Qualifications
What We Are Seeking
Position requires a master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy or psychology. Must hold CA licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMHC), active associate number or intern number from the Board of Behavioral Sciences, in good standing. Position requires a minimum of one (1) year experience working with clients with substance use disorders and/or borderline personality disorder. Certification or significant experience in providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), strongly preferred.
Other Requirements
Clearance of TB test, fingerprinting and state clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The Counselor AOD II - MC is responsible for the provision of alcohol and drug treatment services to clients and their families, engaging in treatment plan process with therapist and case manager and ongoing clinical documentation to support the whole person care of the client. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As -part of a multi-disciplinary Case Management team, performs primary alcohol and drug counseling functions including screening, assessment, and intake;
Provides one on one mentoring and support to clients
Teaches clients independent living and problem-solving skills - develop, plan and initiate methods of exposing clients to healthy lifestyle activities designed to alter former lifestyles, attitudes, images and other negative behavioral patterns.
Acts as advocate for client before outside social service and legal organizations
Collaborate with Case Manager and therapist to ensure that critical linkages to support services meeting the medical, mentalhealth, housing and education needs of the participant are consistently and effectively delivered;

Leads or coordinates group, individual, and educational sessions

All record-keeping shall support client's privacy rights under HIPAA, be in accord with State and Federal law, and SCADP policy and procedure.
Prepare reports as required by funder.
Adheres to professional standards of care and conduct, as set forth by licensure/certification and SCADP policy, including ongoing professional education and organizational training sessions as may be required.
Transports program participants to scheduled appointments, events and meetings as may be required and as assigned.

Interns will observe several different counselors in real-time conversations and interventions with the client and be given an opportunity lead conversations themselves. Interns will provide community based and office based services such as case management, care navigation, behavioral health counseling, rapport building and goal development, de-escalation, skills building, care coordination, clinical interventions, and psychoeducation. Interns will also liaise with the court navigator and other 18th judicial district partners such as public defenders and probation officers. As with all internships you will receive direct supervision from and be in daily contact with your internship supervisor.

Title and Hours required:
· The FACT team works Mon-Friday business hours, with Friday's ending at 3:00 in the afternoon (1/2 day). The ideal candidate will work 3 days a week. Hybrid is available.
· Ideal internship candidates are individuals who have an interest in criminal justice involved clients with serious and persistent mental illness.
· This individual will be expected to drive to see clients in the community only after safety has been assessed. Mileage is reimbursed or a company car can be reserved.
· A minimum of about 16-20 hours per week along with a 9-12 month commitment. The placement typically follows the academic year and begins in the Summer/ Fall semester.
· Open to hourly requirement or Semester by semester term-length requirement
· Location: Wellness Center, 5554 South Prince Street, Littleton, CO 80120
· Must have access to transportation to see clients in the community, and not just at the facility.
Minimum Qualifications and # of openings:
· Must have completed BA and working on MA in Counseling, Social Work or Forensic Psychology (1st and 2nd years welcomed)

Deanne-Executive Director-lives in Central Contra Costa County with her husband and three children. She enjoys hiking the East Bay hills, camping, reading, cooking, and cheering too loudly at her kids' games.
Sara-Director of Support Services-lives in West Contra Costa County with her partner and has raised four children. She enjoys walking, knitting, dancing, writing poetry, reading and Burning Man. Sara is an LCSW and holds a Doctorate in Education.
Bill-Director of Operations-lives in Central Contra Costa County with his partner and is involved in raising his godson. He enjoys reading, cooking/baking, meditation, hiking, and road trips around northern California. Bill is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Beth - Family Services Manager- lives in Central Contra Costa County with her family and enjoys family time, music, cooking, and photography. Beth is a Licensed Psychologist (PhD Clinical Psychology).
Christina-Controller-lives in Pleasant Hill with her husband, three children, and their dog. In her spare time, she volunteers at her children's schools and with Girl Scouts, is on the PTA Board and local AYSO Board. She also enjoys attending her children's many sports activities.

The role is significant and requires an individual who can anticipate needs, has excellent follow through and can positively handle many different and diverse responsibilities effectively and efficiently with a positive and “can do” attitude.
The MentalHealth Associate/Intern will provide on-site mentalhealth services to formerly homeless children and their families living in permanent supportive housing in Pleasant Hill. The position can be part or full-time depending on your needs. Individual supervision, group supervision and training are all provided. Associates provide services in an on-site play therapy room, in family homes and in the community. Some evening and occasional weekend hours will be required.
Applicants of diverse backgrounds who have experience working with low-income families with multiple challenges are encouraged to apply. Applicants with competency working with culturally diverse populations are strongly desired.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Support formerly homeless children to reach their full potential (75%)
:
Provide milieu-based mentalhealth services to
individual children
living in permanent supportive housing who are experiencing emotional challenges. Many of these children may be receiving EPSDT (Early and Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment) services.
Provide on-site individual and group mentalhealth therapeutic services to children.
Assist in delivering on-site parenting support groups to families.
Collaborate with case managers and the youth enrichment coordinator to provide support for individual children and their families, using a team approach. Assist with staff supervision of volunteer programs and community activities delivered to families served by CCIH. These may include evening and occasional weekend commitments.
Work with other staff members to provide community resources for families and individuals, such as social and health related activities, life-skills and employment support, and youth enrichment.
Stay on top of the paperwork and administrative details to keep the program running (15%)
:
Complete accurate and timely EPSDT chart notes for all services provided to children who are assigned under this contract.
Meet individual EPSDT contract goals for hourly billing, including averaging a minimum of 10 - 12 hours per week (depending on work schedule) of direct service to clients who are assigned under this contract.
Assist the services team with appropriate clinical documentation, including progress notes, service delivery documentation, reports, and forms.
Continuously improve your skills and work with team members and community partners to provide excellent services (10%)
Participate in weekly group and individual supervision, using that time to work on developing therapeutic skills and clinical knowledge, as well as exploring growth opportunities as a mentalhealth provider.
Participate in clinical training as possible/needed.
Represent CCIH in a professional manner in all circumstances.
Maintain awareness of culturally diverse consumer populations and perform duties in a culturally competent manner.
Attend all required meetings, including but not limited to: CCIH staff meetings, Internal team meetings, and linkage meetings with other agencies.
Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling.
Registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an intern working toward licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
Experience with low-income and disenfranchised populations desired.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Computer proficiency in the use of Microsoft, and database applications.
Must pass LiveScan screening and TB test.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk up and down stairs and up to ½ mile at any one time.
Ability to sit for up to 2 hours without a break.
Ability to perform repetitive movements, such as typing and filing, and the use of commonly used office machines and supplies.
Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
Ability to speak on the telephone for up to 3 hours.
Must have an operational vehicle, auto insurance, and valid driver's license.
