Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains active surveillance of the pool areas. Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Completes related reports as required. (including incident reports). Maintains effective, positive relationships with members, participants, and other staff. Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area. Performs chemical testing. Maintains accurate records as required by the Health Department code. Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed. Check the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving. Responsible for turning in availability for schedule by the 15 th of the month prior (ex: availability for May's schedule due no later than April 15 th ).
