ThousandEyes makes software that provides end to end visibility across networks, however many you may be dealing with. They do this by creating simple visual guides that walk users through network traffic. The internet is a chaotic place, which is an understatement. ThousandEyes is adding a little order to the madness.
The importance of the internet isn't going away anytime soon. In the next five years, ThousandEyes predicts that the number of users with devices will only continue to skyrocket. Mohit Lad, Co-Founder and CEO of ThousandEyes, said, "In the next five years, we're expecting 50 billion connected devices, 5 billion connected humans, and one internet. That's the reason it's really important that you see, understand and manage this complex environment, and that's what we're built for.
Diving Into the Values at ThousandEyes
Making Life Easier
ThousandEyes stands for making the internet an easier place to navigate. It strives to help people through a muddled and confusing stream of virtual consciousness that they otherwise had no idea was even remotely navigable. Their mission is really to make life easier for the people that they serve.
The People at ThousandEyes
The Superheros
It is an indisputable fact that it is the people who work for the company that makes it the great company it is. In fact, ThousandEyes thinks that to work for them is to have a very special set of skills, or even powers. That is why every new hire with the company gets to pick out an alter ego, a superhero alter ego. There is a wall in the office with employee pictures and their alter ego accompanying them. This is a great way of not only having a bit of fun but acts as a great ice breaker with other team members.
ThousandEyes is also a big melting pot, as far as employee diversity goes. More than 17 countries are represented within the walls of ThousandEyes. They love having this level of diversity because of all the different perspectives and learning opportunities that arise. The company says that it's like a mini-United Nations, without the politics. But a more accurate description is one big happy family.
Priya Gupta, who works in Data, said, "It's rare that you find a company that is both a cultural and talent powerhouse -- which might be the very reason that employees at ThousandEyes are called Superheroes. So it comes at no surprise that my favorite moments at Thousandeyes ( Women roundtables, wine club, tech talks, hack days, off-sites, even lunch) all involve my coworkers."
The Culture at ThousandEyes
A ThousandEyes Are Better Than One
It takes teamwork to thrive at ThousandEyes, and there is definitely no shortage of that. Collaboration is a big part of the way the company operates. When hiring, they don't always look to find the most experienced candidates, necessarily, but the candidates that are driven and who love working with others.
"With a globally distributed workforce and a growing number of teams and functions that support our goals, collaboration and communication is such an important part of our culture and how we work. We invest the time and energy to bring our global workforce together in person at a few different junctures throughout the year." Ryanne, Sales Optimization Director
Account Management Director, Doug, spoke on this a little bit as well, saying, "I believe ThousandEyes overall culture drives a positive work/life balance. Wellness is a DNA principle of ours, and it is truly taken to heart in all sense of the word. Top-down, taking time away from work to spend quality time with family and/or doing what you love is encouraged and celebrated."
There is very much a work hard, play hard mentality at ThousandEyes. That's exemplified in their fully stocked game room which has pool, foosball, and other vintage arcade games.
"At ThousandEyes we celebrate our employees each month with many different events that have ranged from birthday celebrations to a Halloween costume contest and a field day at Zilker Park. Our goal is to create an environment where we are celebrating our entire team," Christie, Office Manager
