- Cut and shape tile to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces and corners, using hand and power cutting tools.
- Cut tile, stone, or other masonry materials.
- Align and straighten tile using levels, squares, and straightedges.
- Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled, following blueprints.
- Study blueprints and examine surface to be covered to determine amount of material needed.
- Mix, apply, and spread plaster, concrete, mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives to form a bed for the tiles using trowel.
- Apply mortar to tile back, position the tile, and press or tap with trowel handle to affix tile to base.
- Mix substances or compounds needed for work activities.
- Remove and replace cracked or damaged tile.
- Clean surfaces in preparation for work activities.
- Remove worn, damaged or outdated materials from work areas.
- Lift 50-75 Lbs
- Grouting during the installation of new tile on medical surfaces
- Keeping a clean and tidy work space
- Account for and return all equipment and tools
- Uphold all company policies and procedures.
- Other tasks as assigned
Recommended Experience:
- 2+ years of tile installation experience (required)
- 1+ year grouting experience (required)
