BLOX tile setter job description

  • Cut and shape tile to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces and corners, using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Cut tile, stone, or other masonry materials.
  • Align and straighten tile using levels, squares, and straightedges.
  • Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled, following blueprints.
  • Study blueprints and examine surface to be covered to determine amount of material needed.
  • Mix, apply, and spread plaster, concrete, mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives to form a bed for the tiles using trowel.
  • Apply mortar to tile back, position the tile, and press or tap with trowel handle to affix tile to base.
  • Mix substances or compounds needed for work activities.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tile.
  • Clean surfaces in preparation for work activities.
  • Remove worn, damaged or outdated materials from work areas.
  • Lift 50-75 Lbs
  • Grouting during the installation of new tile on medical surfaces
  • Keeping a clean and tidy work space
  • Account for and return all equipment and tools
