Tillamook Ice Creamery history
Tillamook Ice Creamery company history timeline
Since 1909, we’ve been dedicated to making the best cheese with the best ingredients.
The association was founded by ten independent dairy farmers in 1909.
TCCA hired an ad agency and began campaigning in 1917 in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland.
In 1949, partnering with four independent plants and with financing arranged through First National Bank, the Tillamook Cheese Factory north of Tillamook was built.
By 1958, when this ad ran in West Coast papers, our cheesemakers had already taken home hundreds of awards—with hundreds more to come from state, national, and world competitions.
A second cheese-making facility, Columbia River Processing, Inc., was built in Boardman, Oregon, in September 2001.
In 2009, Tillamook County Creamery Association celebrated 100 years in business.
