Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
Responsible for meeting planned sales, margin and inventory turnover goals, and for their designated areas.
Develop and instill focused merchandise assortment strategies and inventory management.
Must have brand development and product development.
Supervise, coach and develop Associate Buyer, Assistant Buyer, and Administrative Assistant (with a fully developed department).
Partners with Allocation, Marketing, and Visual teams to ensure correct execution of assortments in store.
Monitors performance versus plan to identify trend opportunities.
Manages all aspects of the merchandise offering-selection, negotiation, promotion, and disposition.
Develops customer driven assortments that support departmental goals and key item focus.
Provides collaborative guidance, direction and support to the planning organization in the development of financial merchandise and key item plans.
Ensures the merchandise selection matches customer needs.
Ensures merchandise mix balances quantity, style, size and price consistent with the company and individual market requirements.
Attend relevant trade shows, markets and events to observe market trends, gather product information, selects merchandise, and establishes business relationships with viable vendors.
Visits stores to evaluate merchandise mix, observes competition, weighs individual store needs and translate findings into executable product plans.
Develops and maintains relationships with vendors.
Maintains company's standards and code of ethics both inside the organization and when dealing with outside vendors
Partners with the Planner to complete accurate forecasts by evaluating financial information, current trends and anticipated market changes that impact buy decisions and strategies.
Ensures promotional execution accuracy (pricing, signage, etc.)
Qualifications

Key Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
Work with the buying team to gain clear direction of design and fit intent while maintaining fit consistency
Work closely with manager and buyers on deadlines of delivery for each style.
Create tech packs with detail sketches and specific construction details to ensure that first proto sample meet intended style, fit and construction.
Maintain all technical aspects of the tech pack sent to the vendor. This includes detailed construction, sewing instructions, measurement verification, tolerances, graded specs and fit comments.
Maintain and update block details as directed by Technical Design Manager.
Approve all graded specs once we have fit approval and maintain graded spec library.
Oversee the final technical specs for each sample.
Communicate fit comments and corrections to vendors, and factories using detailed sketches, and photos in order to develop a good fitting sample
Be able to identify potential production and quality problems at the development stage and make necessary recommended changes
Manage and facilitate fit sessions independently with fit models and buying team and ensure that fit and quality standards are met.
Ability to identify pattern inaccuracies and recommend corrective adjustments.
Support and contribute to visual construction of each style and make recommended style changes.
Research and resolve fit and construction issues using appropriate resources
Able to measure samples point by point when submitted by vendors.
Review construction of garments and communicate to buyers and vendors of any sewing problems.
Maintain and enter specs in Excel document.
Knowledge of garment construction for fashion knit tops, bottoms, and outer wear.
Work with PD Manager on any fit issues that develops during the pre-production/production process.
Write fit comments and corrections on correcting patterns/samples when needed.
Communicate with multiple domestic and overseas vendors; ensure clarity of construction, grading, and measurement requirements.

The eCommerce Systems Architect is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing Pacsun's Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform, mobile app, and the broader eCommerce technology ecosystem, including system integrations. This role works closely with business and IT teams to maximize the value of these technologies, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and an exceptional customer experience.
Accountable from planning through launch and ongoing optimization, the Architect drives initiatives that enhance customer engagement, fuel sales growth, and streamline operations. This includes delivering innovative, efficient solutions that elevate the online customer journey and support Pacsun's strategic business goals.

A day in the life, what you'll be doing:
Enhance and support Pacsun's e‑commerce platform and mobile app - Design, implement and customize Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) solutions-including item catalogs, promotions, price books and product data-while ensuring that new features reflect Pacsun's brand experience.
End‑to‑end project execution - Manage e‑commerce projects from concept through launch: gather requirements, translate them into technical use cases, oversee development and configuration, conduct rigorous QA, manage deployments and provide post‑live support.
Integrate with enterprise systems - Build and maintain integrations between SFCC and ERP, order‑management, CRM, payment gateways and other third‑party platforms. Manage API connections, map data fields and monitor data flows to ensure reliable commerce operations.
Operational oversight and system management - Monitor system performance metrics and logs; manage instance states via Control Center (start/stop/restart, usage and audit logs); run regular health checks; and manage certificates and multi‑factor authentication to uphold security.
Troubleshooting and continuous improvement - Investigate and resolve system issues, analyze root causes, debug code and implement fixes. Identify performance gaps or process bottlenecks and develop technical solutions to enhance scalability and reliability.
Customer‑experience optimization - Use analytics, A/B testing and customer‑behaviour insights to monitor the end‑to‑end customer journey (navigation, search, product pages, checkout and mobile app flows) and implement improvements that drive conversion and revenue.
Release management and sprint execution - Plan and manage sprint releases and platform updates. Execute configuration changes, code deployments and data replication, perform unit and user‑acceptance testing, and ensure stability and rapid response to business needs.
Cross‑functional collaboration - Work closely with merchandising, marketing, operations, IT, finance and customer‑experience teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Manage competing priorities and communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Mentorship and leadership - Provide hands‑on technical leadership and mentorship to developers and analysts. Share expertise in SFCC architecture and best practices, review code and configurations, and encourage continuous skill development.

A day in the life, what you'll be doing:
• Assists the Designer in creating styles from concept to completion in whatever capacity is necessary.
• Design, recreate, manipulate and recolor prints using Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Streamline.
• Generates computer sketches and drapes final drawings with correct pattern, colors, graphics and trims.
• Manages communications between design function and non-design team members. • Help execute the concepts of the designer with critical attention to detail and a sense of urgency to meet all department deadlines.
• Generates spec packages in PDM for the factories to develop initial prototypes (including, but not limited to, establishing measurement points on a garment).
• Maintains PDM and other archival systems.
• Monitors development of preproduction samples with partnership with Product Managers.
• Responsible to conduct market research and become familiar with issues and effects that influence our industry's shifts in business.
• Produces a complete spec package for every garment designed, in a timely manner and to standard.
• Attends fittings to comment and convey the intended fit of each garment either with or without Designer.
• Prepares for meetings, organizes programs and communicates style info to merchants and product development.
• Works with Product Managers to monitor lab dip, hand loom, and strike-off approval.
What it takes to Join:
• Minimum 2 yr AA Degree preferred in Design/Fashion Merchandising, or equivalent experience.
• Adobe Illustrator, Micrografx and Photoshop skills.
• PDM training preferred.
• Timely sense of trends and market direction encompassing color, fabric and silhouette.
• Working knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, textiles and current finishing techniques and processes.
• 0-3 years design experience, which includes fabric sourcing, technical design, trim development and color training with practical experience.
• Computer PC, MAC and CAD experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
