    SRC, Inc. is currently seeking an Engineering Technician to support our U.S Government Customer at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) on Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH. In this role the individual will assist the team of Government and contractor personnel in general laboratory support. They will also coordinate with program management on specific ways to modernize and innovate the existing laboratory environment. The Ideal candidate will be a self-starter and able to work with very little oversite or direction while professionally supporting the government customer. What You'll Do Lab Operations & Demonstration Support Demo Execution: Support Lead Engineers to configure and execute complex hardware demonstrations for internal and external customers. Ensure high availability of systems prior to scheduled demos HWIL Management: Manage the daily configuration of Hardware-in-the-Loop environments, ensuring proper interfacing between the System Under Test and simulation equipment Maintenance, Repair & Calibration Sustainment: Perform routine preventive maintenance on EW simulators and signal generation equipment to prevent downtime Component Repair: Troubleshoot down to the component level. Repair and replace faulty subsystems, cables, and circuit cards Calibration: Execute scheduled calibration and verification of system components and test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters) Process Improvement & Planning QA/QC: Develop, document, and strictly enforce Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) checklists for lab equipment handling, test setups, system verification, routine inspections. Maintain logs of equipment failures for trend analysis and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) Sustainment Planning: Create detailed project plans for long-term sustainment activities, including resource forecasting, downtime scheduling, and inventory management. Recommend consolidation plans for non-repairable/obsolete equipment Upgrade Strategy: Evaluate aging equipment and provide technical guidance/roadmaps for hardware and software upgrades to maintain state-of-the-art capabilities What You'll Bring Associates degree and 8+ years of relevant experience An active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility RF Expertise: Strong understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) theory, signal propagation, radar, and/or electronic warfare. Test Equipment Mastery: Proficiency in operating and interpreting data from: Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) Spectrum Analyzers Signal Generators Oscilloscopes Power Meters Troubleshooting: Ability to read electrical schematics and block diagrams to isolate faults in complex RF systems. Project Management: Ability to manage timelines for repair cycles and upgrade projects independent of direct supervision. This role is responsible for supporting the Quality Team in testing and inspection of all control panel products prior to shipping from our facility. This role will work closely with the Quality Control Engineer and interface occasionally with Operations, Sales and Engineering teams to deal with troubleshooting, design, and any other necessary tasks related to delivering a quality product to our customers This is a full-time hourly position, day shift, scheduled weekdays. Main Tasks. The main tasks for this role include the testing, diagnosing, and repair/troubleshooting of new electrical control panels. This will include the use of various testing equipment inclusive of hardware and software applications. This role will require working closely with Operations, and occasional interface with Sales, and Engineering teams to ensure a quality product is fully functional prior to leaving the facility. Individual Tasks Initial continuity check of all wiring to prevent any possible shorts or misconnections of electrical components using digital multi-meter Assist in the design, development and implementation of new test equipment and procedures for new and existing products Conduct final product audits following established procedures to verify product quality prior to customer shipment Perform surveillance inspection during production, including, but not limited to pre- and final testing Able to communicate and interface with Quality Engineer, Quality Assurance, Production, Engineering and Sales to resolve manufacturing and warranty issues in a professional manner when required Capable of making temporary load hook up for complete functional testing Conduct demonstration of equipment to customers as needed Report any technical or equipment failures to Quality Engineer Perform systematic first-time power up of all control panels Assist in authoring standard testing procedures via PC Word Processing software based on electrical schematics Requirements/Challenges. Minimum 2-year Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology / electronics or mechanical or equal experience Must be able to work productively, safely, and independently without supervision Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the company including production, engineering, and management personnel Must be able to read and interpret assembly drawings, electrical drawings, mechanical/lay-out drawings, relay logic drawings, and more Excellent time management skills Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills Basic skill in Microsoft Word, Excel and other related software are a must Must have positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment Special Knowledge/Skills.
