Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Wind from multiple reels to single reel as necessary for cabling or other operations
Visually checks all wire and cable during rewinding operations to detect rough finish areas, obvious diameter variations and other disqualifying elements
Take approved action to report, repair, remove faulty areas depending upon type and use requirements of wire or cable being rewound

Perform all required duties to maintain departmental braiding and related
equipment in proper mechanical condition; maintain approved levels of repair
parts and supplies following established practices.
Perform routine preventive maintenance operations on all sizes of
departmental braiding equipment and auxiliary winding units.
Lubricate, make routine adjustments and perform other duties to assure
continued operation.
Work form instructions, operator requests and other authorizations to
diagnose faulty operation resulting in incorrect braiding or continued
stoppage.
Make temporary repairs or replacements as possible to permit continued
operation. Tear down machines, determine extent of trouble, repair damaged
mechanisms or replace worn or defective parts; reassembly and adjust for proper
operation.
Use hand and small power tools to perform fitting, grinding, filing,
scraping and other operations required in reassemble and adjustment of units.
Make machine changeovers or alterations for special braiding requirements;
setup machines as necessary to assure correct operation where machine
modifications are involved.
Maintain approved levels of repair parts and supplies for all braiding and
related units.
Initiate requests for resupply or special parts needed. Confer with
supervision as to machining requirements or other outside assistance needed in
special cases.
Work involves a wide range of hand and bench operations requiring skill and
a thorough knowledge of braiding equipment and related units to diagnose and
remedy troubles quickly, and where the understanding of gearing, fits and
adjustments is necessary to insure satisfactory performance on the job.
Detect and report defective material, faulty operation and unusual
conditions to proper supervision.
Maintain work and storage areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow environmental, health and safety regulations.

The Product Validation Engineer is responsible for planning and conducting a variety of design qualification and product evaluation tests on RF coaxial cables and connectors for use in military and commercial applications. Product evaluations can include mechanical, electrical, or environmental testing in accordance with customer, military or TMS specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute detailed test plans for product validation and qualification test campaigns, and report project status, internally or externally, as requested.
Interpret engineering specifications and communicate technical risks, clarification or change recommendations directly with the customer.
Compile and organize test data into comprehensive and thorough test reports, in accordance with TMS reporting methods.
Analyze product performance data to determine reliability, repeatability, and predicted life expectancy.
Work independently and take ownership of programs and/or projects to achieve schedule, financial, and technical goals.
Evaluate product performance after simulated aging using HALT and HAST techniques.
Design custom fixturing and develop test plans for novel product qualification.
Technical expert on RF, mechanical, and environmental testing, including test apparatus and systems.
Perform failure mode evaluations on coaxial cables and connectors.
Work directly with design engineering, applications engineering, program management and operations, as necessary.
Provide technical advice to program managers when qualification test programs are negotiated.

Evaluate existing test equipment capability, identify, and justify capital investments when necessary.

This role is responsible for providing the solution for customer and division requirements and specifications in a timely and cost-effective manner by applying expertise and intiative and available resources to ensure that product designs are proper for the application, well conceived, adequately documented, and sufficiently tested to provide consistent, quality products to our customers. What will you do?
On any given day, your responsibilities would include:
* Providing product, process, and application engineering analysis and support to customers and manufacturing plants for division products.
* Engaging with customers to help them define new products and uncover opportunities for future product development.
* Applying basic engineering principles and analysis to the resolution of technical problems; performing development, design, and analysis of new products; providing design validation testing for all new products.
* Reviewing, interpreting and acting on customer provided specifications and drawings and converting into divisional format; establishing dimensional, mechanical, and electrical performance criteria and parameters.
* Establishing and modifying test limits and methods that adequately ensure product performance compliance.
* Supporting marketing and field sales colleagues by providing and coordinating requests for quotes, application and design assistance, and customer visits.
* Responsibility for accurate and timely completion of Requests for Engineering Action (REA's).
* Analyzing, recommending and applying new engineering technologies and software for design; intiating and providing design support to other groups within engineering; reviewing and validating the impact of suggested modifications to products; processing Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) and Deviations as required.
* Evaluating and recommending component parts, materials, and processes as related to improved product performance, quality, and profitability.
* Coordinating new designs and product engineering efforts with drafting, marketing, field sales, manufacturing engineering and general management.
* Providing customer or in-house technical training in areas of technical specialization.
