The Survey Instrument Operator assists Land Surveyors and Party Chiefs in application of principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering and land surveying by performing the following duties. Civil engineering experience and dry utility construction experience preferred. The qualified candidate must be able to perform all aspects of dry utility plan preparation and permit procurement. The qualified candidate must be able to successfully manage all aspects of dry utility plan preparation and permit procurement. This would include preparation of specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, cost estimates, and budgets associated with the planning, design, permitting, and construction of dry utility systems (power, gas, telecommunications) primarily within Central Virginia. The candidate must also be able to oversee the permit process with the local utilities, and provide consultation and recommendations regarding dry utility systems, processes, equipment, facilities, and construction methods to the developer.
