The Roustabout will be performing maintenance on oil field wells and may be required to work with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment (buffers, grinders, pipe and hand wrenches, hammers, gas monitors, backhoes, forklifts, boom trucks and skid-steers). This is a labor-intensive position with diverse job duties that may vary on a daily basis. Roustabouts may be required to work in all types of inclement and/or extreme weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Unscrew or tighten pipes, casing, tubing, and pump rods, using hand and power wrenches and tongs. Walk flow lines to locate leaks, using electronic detectors and by making visual inspections, and repair the leaks. Move pipes to and from trucks, using truck winches and motorized lifts, or by hand. Dismantle and repair oil field machinery, boilers, and steam engine parts, using hand tools and power tools. Dig drainage ditches around wells and storage tanks. Dig holes, set forms, and mix and pour concrete into forms to make foundations for wood or steel derricks.
