    SHIFT: Night Shift- Monday - Friday, 11:00pm- 7:30am THE ROLE OF A LUBE TECHNICIAN: Under general supervision, performs safety and maintenance inspections, preventive maintenance on vehicles and/or heavy landfill equipment and/or stationary equipment. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Performs preventive maintenance and safety inspections on any or all company vehicles, heavy landfill equipment and stationary equipment. * Accurately and efficiently completes paperwork and/or computer database entries relating to the work performed, documenting parts and supply usage. Generates repair orders to communicate defects or areas of concerns for follow up and/or corrective action. * Performs minor repairs and cleaning of components as required. Performs other maintenance related work as required by supervisor or foreman. * Operate forklift and other yard equipment as required. * Performs all work in accordance to company standards and policies and DOT standards for safety. * Maintains a clean, safe work area in accordance with company policy and federal, state and local requirements. * QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: * High school diploma or GED preferred. * One year of preventive maintenance mechanical experience with heavy vehicles. * Waste and recycling industry experience preferred. * Experience and knowledge of DOT Out-of-Service Criteria including CHP B.I.T. Inspections and DOT compliance audits. * Experience working in a maintenance facility or related environment with vehicles, processing equipment such as: balers, conveyors, hoppers, electric motors and landfill equipment preferred. * Basic knowledge of diesel and/or compressed natural gas engines, heavy equipment mechanical components and use of tools and techniques. * Knowledge of alternating and direct current electrical controls and motor systems. * Knowledge of federal, state and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices; understanding of potential job hazards. * Basic computer programs. * Valid driver's license.
