The "B" Level Service Technician has the responsibility of understanding and completing routine repairs necessary for the repair of customer vehicles. This individual will perform general repairs and diagnosis with some assistance. These repairs include but are not limited to light engine work, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems (starters and alternators) HVAC systems, steering & suspension systems. This individual will have a majority of their manufacture certifications.
Make accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle
Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair order
Communicate with service advisor when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
Maintain technician proficiency as specified by Asbury standards
Conduct road test to determine work needed and to confirm work was successfully completed when necessary and practical
Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles
Perform all levels of preventive/routine maintenance services
Utilize product and technical training as assigned by the manufacturer and management
Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools to continuously expand your knowledge of new technology
Maintain manufacturer (CSI) Customer Satisfaction Index at or above the Asbury specified goal(s) in service for district, regional and national scores
Complete the work, notations and time-keeping necessary to the successful completion of warranty repair orders and the filing of warranty claims
Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees
Take care to ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced
Understand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
Comply with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policy, regarding safeguarding all customer vehicles, property and information
ASE certifications heavily preferred
Manufacturer certifications heavily preferred
Previous automotive technician experience required
Must have basic tools
Must have great technical and mechanical skills
Must be a team player and have the ability to work repetitively on complex tasks
Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age

**Position Summary**
The Automotive Technician position requires your experience and technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while using your leadership and mentoring skills in driving a team toward increased customer care and satisfaction.
Pay Range: $19.55 - $29.33

**Responsibilities**
+ Change oil and perform other scheduled maintenance services.
+ Perform inspections of steering, suspension, and brake systems.
+ Install batteries and check electrical systems.
+ Perform tire maintenance.
+ Install parts.
+ Road test vehicles.
+ Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least one of A1 - A8 within first two years of employment (Tests and registrations fees are paid for by company pass or fail. Technicians receive bonus for each test passed)
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks.
+ Must have a valid automobile driver's license at all times and be able to drive customer and company vehicles.
+ Basic understanding of general automotive maintenance & tire repair services including:
+ Oil changes
+ Basic inspections
+ Repairing tires
+ Reading, writing, and math skills.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 2 years of automotive repair experience, completion of Vocational-Technical School program in a related field or demonstrated skills via third party certificates/assessment.
+ A.S.E certification or equivalent external qualifications or training certifications.

Job Duties
Perform Lube, Oil & Filter changes quickly and effectively
Use brute force to move bulky metal and rubber to perform tire rotation while
using measured strength to properly torquing wheels
Bring flat tires to their originally inflated state by taking advantage of their
secret weapon - a tire patch
Use their expert touch to perform scratch free mounting & balancing of tires
Help car owners overcome weather and control light by properly replacing
wiper blades and installing various light bulbs
Help car owners harness the power of liquid by performing fluid exchanges,
once fully trained on our equipment
Help maximize the effectiveness of clean air by replacing fuel and cabin air
filters
Document vehicle condition (in writing)
Conduct battery testing and help manage the electric current by replacing
batteries on an as needed basis, once trained on our equipment
Perform day to day shop maintenance and cleaning chores
Support other superheroes such as line technicians with their duties on an as
needed basis
