Key Responsibilities:
Inspect vehicles and equipment for needed repairs; perform minor repairs as required.
Lubricate automotive and power driven equipment with the use of air pressure and lubrication tools.
Drain and refill crankcases; inspect and fill gearboxes with lubricants; replace lubricant fittings; maintain lubrication records; maintain lubrication stock and replace as necessary.
Inspect, charge, and replace batteries.
Change and repair tires on light and heavy equipment.
Wash and otherwise keep shop and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
Make minor mechanical adjustments to automotive and other power-driven equipment.
Maintain necessary records of time, materials, and parts used.
All aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair such as: pack and replace wheel bearings, replace shock absorbers, fan belts, radiator hoses, and u-joints, perform general tune up and repair work on automobiles, inspect and adjust/replace necessary units and parts including cooling & fuel and exhaust components, etc.
Repair and overhaul brakes, ignition systems, electrical systems, transmission, differentials, and hydraulic systems; inspect, repair, overhaul and assemble automotive electrical equipment such as generators, distributors, magnetos and starters.
Perform inspections of automotive or mechanical equipment to determine repair needs of estimate cost of repairs; perform occasional metal work by cutting, welding other procedures.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
A minimum of 2 years' working experience in a similar role.
Safely operate heavy construction and repair equipment with proficiency and efficiency.
Locate, correct and adjust defects in complex automotive and mechanical equipment.
Adapt available tools and repair parts to specific repair parts to specific repair problems.
Interpret and work from sketches and diagrams.
Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.
Extremely organized with good communication skills.
Detail-oriented with an aptitude for problem-solving.
Ability to work Monday - Friday, normal business hours.
Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed.

Position Overview:
The Service Technician will diagnose vehicle service problems and perform quality repairs on assigned repairs. Get it right the first time! Fix the vehicle properly. Make a quality check after each repair. Advise the Service Writer of the necessary repairs, including the required parts, and inform the manager of any changes or deviations from the original repair instructions outlined in the repair order.

You are a reliable individual with a proven work ethic
You have the keen ability to identify problems efficiently and in a timely manner
You have 2+ years of experience and strong knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance, including diagnosing and repairing automotive systems such as the engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
You continuously learn new technical information and techniques through training to stay up to date with rapidly changing technology
Essential Functions:
Perform quality repairs on assigned repair orders. Fix the vehicle right the first time and make a quality check after each repair
Conduct road tests to determine the work required
Advise the Service Manager of needed repairs, including parts needed, and advise the manager of any changes or deviations from the original repair instructions on the repair order
Complete comprehensive documentation of cause/correction, specifications, and other pertinent information needed to describe repair activities
Ensure current knowledge of the latest technical data and service procedures
Retain essential tools necessary to complete assigned repairs
Maintain a clean and safe work area and lock up all tools daily
Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company's Values in all customer interactions, co-workers, and vendors
Requirements:
Previous (1-2 years) of automotive technician experience
At least 18 years of age
Must possess a valid driver's license and have a favorable motor vehicle record
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
Authorized to work in the United States

The role of the Roadside Technician position in our company can be broken down into one sentence: "An emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets". To elaborate a bit further; when a customer has a tire related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer's location to repair or change the tire. This means that a Technician is expected to be roadside when performing their job duties.
