Job Description The Alignment / Tire & Wheel Technician (tire tech) is responsible for overseeing all activity in the installation shop. The Tire & Wheel Technician ensures that all paperwork related to installs or removals is completed properly, inventory is properly maintained and monitored, and that proper tools and equipment are always in the shop. The Alignment / Tire & Wheel Technician is generally offered as a full time positions and offers benefits plus paid vacation. Prior experience as an automotive technician, auto tech, tire technician, tire tech, wheel specialist, alignment tech is very helpful to the success at this job. Requirements/Responsibilities Alignment / Tire & Wheel Technician (tire tech) Requirements: Must have have at least 3 years experience in: * Front end steering and suspension repair * Alignment Certified * Ability to mount, balance, install tires & wheels * Use of tire machine and balance machine Additionally: * Overseeing all activity in the installation shop * Place product and supply orders * Check-in delivered merchandise * Label merchandise with item numbers * Organize delivered merchandise according to the customer it was ordered for * Handle "Return to Vendor" merchandise when necessary * Identify and properly tag all turned-in products * Clean and maintain turned-in products * Maintain an organized system of storing used tires * Control parts spending Other Requirements: Valid State Driver License with a clean driving history We conduct drug screen, & background check Prior experience as an automotive technician, auto tech, tire technician, tire tech, wheel specialist, alignment tech is important to the success at this job. Responsible for the actual service and/or repair of vehicles assigned to them by service management or their designated representatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Properly complete the service and/or repairs for which the technician is trained as assigned by management or their designated representative. Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures. Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replenishes as necessary.Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed. Properly use the special tools and equipment provided by the service department. Participate in and utilize (to the best of ones ability) technical training as assigned by management. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events. Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. Maintain the work space assigned in an organized and cleanly manner. Ensure that customer vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced. Maintain personal grooming, hygiene and uniform standards according to departmental policy. Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management. Review the technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management. Provide the administrative assistance necessary to complete warranty repair orders and other tasks assigned by management. Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees. Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner. Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order. Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Follows federal, state and local law as well as company policy about safeguarding all information. Reports on time to work and follows schedule that is given. Calls supervisor if he/she cannot be at work on time. Keeps current with annual HR training along with any other training that might be required for this position. Follows all company policies and procedures. Notifies supervisor of any illegal activity.
