Position Summary
We are seeking a Crane Service Technician - Level 2 or Level 3 to join our Boise/Twin Falls location. This position is ideal for experienced technicians with strong mechanical and electrical skills who are ready to take on more complex service tasks. You will perform inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and installations on overhead cranes and hoists, including advanced troubleshooting and customer communication.
Responsibilities
Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs of overhead cranes and hoists per OEM manuals and OSHA standards.
Work on 3-motion cranes with VFDs (no encoder) or contactors, including 5-speed pendants or remotes.
Service and troubleshoot uncommon brake systems such as Whiting SESA and Magnetek thruster brakes.
Demonstrate thorough understanding of AC control circuit principles including Ohm's Law and voltage drop.
Troubleshoot and repair contactor motor control systems.
Rig up and install new crane equipment with proper safety and mechanical procedures.
Explain repair plans, troubleshooting processes, and required parts to customers clearly and professionally.
Properly diagnose mechanical components including wheels, bearings, and reducers.
Identify and understand crane control components in hoist and bridge panels.
Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in crane service or industrial maintenance.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Machine Validation:
Execute comprehensive validation test plans for machinery, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and customer requirements.
Conduct functional and performance testing to verify that machines meet specified design and performance criteria.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve any issues identified during validation processes.
Document and maintain detailed validation reports and documentation.
Acceptance Testing
Lead customers through factory and site acceptance tests to assure acceptance criteria are met, documented, and punch list items are collected then communicated to the project manager.
Support and coordinate timely resolution of punch list items to achieve acceptance to ship the system and final acceptance at the customer's site.
Installation and Commissioning:
Travel to customer locations and lead the installation and commissioning of machines, ensuring proper integration with existing systems and infrastructure.
Provide technical support during the installation phase, troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure successful project completion.
Collaborate with the Machine Installation Coordinator, customers, and other stakeholders to coordinate and maintain installation schedules, budgets, and logistics.
Training
Conducts customer training on machine operation, maintenance procedures, and application development.
Technical Expertise:
Possess a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues.
Develop deep understand of our surface treatment processes key process controls and application development knowledge.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and adhere to quality assurance processes to ensure the highest standards of machine performance and reliability.
Participate in design reviews to provide input on potential issues related to validation and installation and identify product or process improvements.
Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for installation procedures, troubleshooting guides, and validation protocols.

Required Qualifications:
Technical degree in Engineering or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an R&D lab performing light assembly work and electrical testing.
Technical Skills:
Using hand tools to perform assembly tasks of mechanical and electrical systems.
Proficient in using oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, signal generators, network analysers, and other common test equipment.
Strong focus on accuracy and precision in assembly work, test setup, execution, and documentation.
Ability to work autonomously, manage tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving issues.

This role serves as a critical point of contact for the public, city staff, inspectors, plans examiners, and the Building Official. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Permit Processing: Review and process permit applications, collect and record payments/fees, and conduct permit audits to ensure compliance.
Documentation & Records Management: Maintain accurate and organized files, including permits, inspection reports, blueprints, and reference materials.
Customer Service: Provide professional assistance to contractors, homeowners, and the public regarding permitting requirements and building department services.
Inspection Coordination: Schedule inspections for building code compliance and assist inspectors with administrative support.
Contractor Registration: Maintain and update contractor registration records.
Data Management: Perform data entry tasks, manage fee details, and maintain Excel spreadsheets (e.g., tax logs).
Communication: Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and ensure timely resolution of customer needs.
Additional Duties: Support the Building Official and department staff with related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Previous experience in permitting with a municipality or building department highly preferred.
Strong understanding of construction permitting processes and building codes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Valid State Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
International Code Council (ICC) Permit Technician Certification (not required but strongly preferred).
Experience with permitting software systems and electronic document management.
