The Substitute Worker provides the daily support needed for each resident to function at the highest possible level.     Job DescriptionDescription: Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Clinical Supervisor serves in a dual-role capacity, providing both clinical supervision and direct mental health services. Approximately sixty percent of the position is dedicated to supervising and supporting the clinical work of assigned staff, while the remaining forty percent involves carrying a direct service caseload. The role supports children and youth ages 0-21 and their families, many of whom have current or past involvement with the child welfare system. The primary function of the role is to oversee the clinical work of assigned mental health clinicians. The Parent Partner will work closely with families to increase involvement, setting goals, coaching family members through the process, and supporting them in achieving the set goals. The Parent Partner also helps to ensure that the integrity of the individual family's culture is fully integrated into every aspect of the care and support offered to the child and family. The Parent Partner ensures that culturally sensitive and family friendly engagement practices permeate throughout all of our program offerings. Oversee financial governance and compliance for affiliated legal entities, including LLCs, ensuring alignment with Agency policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Position Title: Mental Health Clinician Program(s) and Location: New Direction (Sacramento) Schedule : Full-time non-exempt, 40 hours/week, Monday- Friday 8:00am-5:00pm and may require working some evenings and weekend schedules Pay rate: $38.38/hour with associate licensure (AMFT, ACSW, etc.); $40.30/hour with full licensure (LMFT, LCSW, etc.) About the Position: The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for clinical assessment, creation and or oversight of a service plan, and implementation of that plan through therapeutic interventions. This position provides the support necessary to assist the client in attaining a maximum functional level. The Mental Health Clinician may participate in the internal and county utilization review process. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Support individuals with active listening, demonstrate empathy, and carry a message of hope and recovery. Provide client assessments and formulate service plans regarding intensive long or short-term treatment. Observe, assess, intervene, and refer (within one's scope of practice) in situations with clients regarding mental health symptoms, physical health symptoms, and substance use issues. Assists clients and family/caregivers in understanding treatment and the use of therapy and medication. Deliver therapeutic services to clients and family/caregivers, including but not limited to, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. Works with a multi-disciplinary team to provide integrated psychosocial rehabilitative services and attend meetings to ensure continuity of care for clients. Reviews client assessments, client plans, and progress notes to assist PSCs with training and accuracy to meet Medi-Cal billing standards. Participates in the internal and county utilization review process. Accurately complete all necessary forms, reports, and paperwork required by the program on a timely basis (e.g., progress notes, special incident reports, discharge summaries, Medi-Cal billing, Avatar forms, and HMIS). Acts as a designated Mandated Reporter for the observed or suspected abuse and/or neglect of children, disabled individuals, dependent adults, and elder/senior citizens. Mandated Reporter also includes “Duty to Warn” which includes the responsibility to notify authorities and the intended victim(s) of physical harm. Coordinates, or assist in, special research or projects when needed or assigned, including creating, preparing, and distributing special reports. Ensure the protection and confidentiality of all Protected Health Information (PHI) by following all policies and procedures in the Agency HIPAA Manual. Education and/or Experience: Master's Degree in the field of psychology, counseling or social work. Two (2) years of professional experience in a mental health related setting providing direct services is highly desirable. Knowledge of the theories, principles and techniques of family, group and individual therapy, as well as the planning, development and implementation of comprehensive service plans. Knowledge of principles and techniques of diagnostic assessment and interviewing, and the social psychological and physical aspects of mental disorders. Experience with Medi-Cal requirements is desirable. Work experience with persons who have substance abuse problems, preferably individuals who are dually diagnosed (mental health & substance abuse) is highly desirable. Knowledge of 12-Step Programs and/or personal experience with substance abuse recovery is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of group work principles and the ability to work effectively with groups. Consumer of mental health services or a family member of a mental health consumer is desirable. Familiarity with 51-50 criteria and crisis de-escalation is highly desirable. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must meet the qualifications of a Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts (LPHA) and be in the beginning process of obtaining hours for licensure in one of the following professional categories: Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) Registered Clinical Social Worker (ASW) Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) OR Licensed Clinical Psychologist Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) OR Be in the final phase of obtaining licensure for any of the above-stated professions and be registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences Provide own vehicle, possess a valid California Driver's License and current vehicle insurance. Position Description: Under the direct supervision of the individual designated on the agency Organizational Chart, the Outreach and Engagement Center Shift Supervisor will support the Program Manager to ensure that individuals who are experiencing homelessness are offered brief respite and information, advocacy and referrals for continued assistance and support after they leave the Outreach and Engagement Center. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing the operations of the Center while on duty and reporting outcomes. The Outreach and Engagement Center is a program designed to provide respite for adults experiencing homelessness who are referred to us from City of Sacramento Department of Community Response, Sacramento County Park Rangers or the City of Sacramento Impact Team who are camping in the immediate vicinity of the Center. The Center is a place to receive support, services, linkages and to gain hope for a resolution. This program is designed to provide a safe environment for individuals who are in need of relief from the stresses homelessness, and who need assistance in accessing services and resources. The Outreach and Engagement Center is open and welcomes individuals 24 hours a day / 7 days a week by referral invitation only. Services will be offered from a Trauma informed perspective and will utilize Motivational Interviewing and other Evidence Based Practices as appropriate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following; other duties may be assigned) Support individuals with active listening, demonstrate empathy and carry a message of hope and recovery Ensure that Best Practices of mental health recovery are taught and implemented. Observe, assess, intervene and refer (within one's scope of practice) in situations with clients regarding mental health symptoms, physical health symptoms and substance use issues. Assure the safe, effective and efficient implementation of direct services to guests in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care. Coordinate guest care with community resources as applicable. Ensure that direct report staff is informed regarding pertinent Agency business. Connect with partner organizations and programs as needed to ensure appropriate and sufficient referrals and to receive updated community information. Follow and apply all personnel policies seeking appropriate consultation when necessary. Assess, train, and support direct reports including interns/volunteers to ensure quality services. Ensure for the review, evaluation and screening of relevant employment applications. Interview and check references on job applicants. Make hiring recommendations to the appropriate management team member. Coordinate guest care with community resources as applicable using online direct referral and closed loop referral tools such as “UniteUS and Find Help”. Requisition and purchase household, maintenance, office and program supplies as applicable. Act as a designated Mandated Reporter for the observed or suspected abuse and/or neglect of children, disabled individuals, dependent adults and elder/senior citizens. Assist in guest concerns and complaints, intervene in, and/or oversee, crises and emergencies as they occur. Ensure the accurate screening and assessment of admissions and discharges in conjunction with contracted criteria. Ensure that the Center and surrounding environment is clean and fit for occupancy, where applicable. Provide and assist with cleaning as needed. Ensure that onsite Kennel operation is managed in a clean and safe manner. Ensure the protection and confidentiality of all Protected Health Information (PHI) by following all policies and procedures in the agency HIPAA Manual. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in the Outreach and Engagement Center department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and/or Experience: Two (2) years demonstrated experience communicating and interacting with people experiencing homelessness, people experiencing a mental health crisis or people with behavioral health challenges.. Ability to supervise, delegate and provide leadership to staff. Knowledge of community organizations and community resources. Mental health crisis intervention experience is highly desirable. Work experience with persons who have substance abuse problems, preferably individuals who are dually diagnosed (mental health & substance abuse) is highly desirable. Knowledge of 12-Step Programs and/or personal experience with substance abuse recovery is highly desirable. Lived experience with homelessness, mental health challenges or substance use disorders or as a family member of someone who has lived experience. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Provide own automobile, possess a valid California Driver's License, and have adequate vehicle insurance as required by California state law. In addition, an employee's driving record must meet, and continue to meet, the underwriting standards established by the generalized driving guidelines used by our insurance broker. Must have at least 3 or more years of driving experience.
