Perform all assigned planned maintenance on customer lift trucks. Maintain a service van and its inventory. Process paperwork after completion of each job. Minimum Qualifications Less than 2 years related experience High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks. Preferred Qualifications Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics and internal combustion engines, and the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics. Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills. Technical degree, previous lift truck repair, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment preferred. Familiar with tools and equipment such as common hand tools, electrical/air tools, torch, arc welder and various types of testing equipment. Industry related training is preferred Ability to read and understand service manuals, plan, and follow-through Work Authorization: Crown will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States. POSITION SUMMARY The 3rd Shift Machine Operator will operate equipment and provide leadership to crew to produce the finest quality product at rates and standards consistent with the Company's desire to be a Preferred Supplier of cost effective top quality products. Effectively and efficiently operate Vboard machine to maintain production goals. Provide crew leadership and coordinate crew. Lead communications with crew and plant leadership. Support and lead training efforts. Proficient in all areas of the Vboard machine. Meet performance metrics. Document and communicate in glass wall. Ability to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on all equipment. Ability to satisfactorily perform all Vboard duties. Participate in continuous improvement and effectively communicate opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness for this position. All other reasonable duties as required. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in all phases of machine and department operation as needed for breaks, changes, or special projects. Keep up to date with any ongoing machine improvements. Maintain cleanliness to ensure safety of all personnel. Foster an attitude of lean thinking, sustain improvements and motivating the rest of the crew to not be satisfied with status quo. WORK RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE Work closely and be in constant communication with Production Supervisor & Operations Manager for direction on daily work schedule, staff for machines and up-coming order changes. Ensure all safety guidelines are followed. Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries to supervision immediately. Ensure good communication between shifts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED The Crew Leader must hold a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
