Job Summary: Analyses tooling problems and improvement opportunities, troubleshoots stamping dies, repairs stamping dies, operates machine tools, and disassembles and assembles dies, fixtures, and gauges.


Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Tool and Die Apprenticeship Certification/Journeyman's Card Forklift Operator License and Crane Operator License Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), CAD software, and KeyCreator software Must have excellent communication, problem solving, organization, time management, and decision making skills Must be able to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize Must have a good knowledge of the English language Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949


Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills:
Ability to use mathematics in the performance of the manufacture and repair of metal stamping tools, gages, and fixtures. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Reasoning Ability:
Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and provide continuous improvement solutions to mechanical and theoretical problems with tools, dies, gages, and fixtures. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

100% Plant Floor (PPE Required)

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Performs assignments ranging from the use of ordinary tool room operations to work involving accurate relationships and extremely close tolerances.Plans construction procedures and methods, selecting the proper materials.Makes allowances for shrinkage during the heat-treating of tools and metal flows in dies.Identifies and corrects problems in complicated dies and tools.Plans, schedules, and coordinates corrective, preventive, predictive, and proactive activities.Utilizes common tools for the role, precision measuring instruments, and electrical testing devices to complete tasks.Assembles, installs and tests tools and die equipment, and components.Utilizes diagrams, sketches, manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to diagnose and correct problems.Collaborates with others to ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner.Controls and optimizes spare parts ordering, stocking, issuing, and inventorying.Supports root cause problem solving and development of new or refinement of existing equipment.Adheres to all plant safety policies. Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs.Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a technical certificate with 3-6 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills
Possesses strong understanding of automated industrial machinery and electrical systems. High volume manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.Demonstrates ability to read diagrams, manuals, and measurement tools.Possesses in-depth experience with complex troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and to prioritize activities according to importance.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and any other relevant software.

Position is responsible for analyzing and/or troubleshooting machine or tool performance and improving efficiencies in the tool room area. Position is responsible for modifying, repairing, and manufacturing Aluminum Wax Pattern molds for the Investment Casting Industry.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

* Analyzes blueprints, determines materials required, and machines various pieces of material and components in order to make, modify or repair aluminum wax pattern molds for the Investment Casting Industry.
* Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances, using measuring instruments such as dial indicators, gauges, blocks, thickness gauges, and micrometers.
* Develops specifications from general descriptions and draws or sketches design of product.
* Tries out new tooling or production equipment and reworks and modifies tooling until an acceptable part is produced from specified material.
* Assists in the operation, troubleshooting, or replacement of machine or tool parts.
* Shop tests, maintains, and repairs moving parts.
* Maintains inventory control records as required.
* Performs related duties as required.

* Read and interprets blueprints and measuring devices such as scales, micrometers, calipers, etc. Adds, subtracts, multiplies and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
* Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
* Exercise decision-making ability, advising the Department Supervisor, or designee, as needed of special concerns as they arise.
