This position earns a minimum starting wage of $23.00/hour, based on experience and has the opportunity for performance-based increases in the first 90 days and annually thereafter. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MACHINE BUILDER AND FABRICATOR High school diploma OR equivalent Minimum of 10 years' experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance or machine building Proficiency to use precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers & indicators) Strong math skills, with ability to reverse engineer from a sample part, as well as read and interpret drawings & blueprints Able to troubleshoot mechanical & electrical issues, including AC/DC motors and control panels. Effectively and safely operate manual lathe, the mill & other equipment/tools Must be able to stand, reach, sit, squat up to 10 hours per day as required by the specific job (this may include lifting items up to 60 pounds) Use lift truck, small crane & scissor jack for equipment & building maintenance Must be comfortable with computer keyboard & basic computer skills as you will use them daily for team communication, emails and to research & procure normal materials as well as obsolete parts from the internet. RESPONSIBILITIES in the Life of a Machine Builder and Fabricator AT CPT As a full-time Machine Builder and Fabricator, you play a vital role in the operations of our business. Your primary responsibility is to maintain and upgrade production equipment and tooling using your mechanical & electrical skills. This may include using lathe and milling skills to fabricate custom tooling or parts. You may need to create prints, drawings & schematics. Always organized & attentive to detail, you keep an inventory of materials and research & order parts as needed. You monitor and maintain both our facilities and machine performance thru your preventative maintenance duties to minimize our production downtime.
