This hands-on role involves: Fitting and assembling components and subassemblies using blueprints and manuals Performing drilling, fitting, and fastening operations using hand and power tools Wiring electrical components to specification Verifying alignment, tolerance, and clearances of moving parts Running test procedures to ensure completed systems meet customer specs Operating machines to shape and fabricate parts Maintaining inventory of components and materials Keeping your work area clean, organized, and safe Required Qualifications 1 to 4 years of machine building experience Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices (calipers, gauges, tape measure) Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Able to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work independently after training Dependable work history and strong work ethic Work Environment & Culture This is a hands-on role in a small, clean, and organized shop environment. Machine builders assemble machinery based on blueprints and schematics using hand and power tools. This position earns a minimum starting wage of $23.00/hour, based on experience and has the opportunity for performance-based increases in the first 90 days and annually thereafter. Effectively and safely operate manual lathe, the mill & other equipment/tools Must be able to stand, reach, sit, squat up to 10 hours per day as required by the specific job (this may include lifting items up to 60 pounds) Use lift truck, small crane & scissor jack for equipment & building maintenance Must be comfortable with computer keyboard & basic computer skills as you will use them daily for team communication, emails and to research & procure normal materials as well as obsolete parts from the internet. Your primary responsibility is to maintain and upgrade production equipment and tooling using your mechanical & electrical skills. This may include using lathe and milling skills to fabricate custom tooling or parts. You may need to create prints, drawings & schematics. Always organized & attentive to detail, you keep an inventory of materials and research & order parts as needed. You monitor and maintain both our facilities and machine performance thru your preventative maintenance duties to minimize our production downtime.
