2ND SHIFT TOOL MAKER PRIMARY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Possesses detailed knowledge of all tool room machines. Performs complete machine setups. Works closely with other tool makers in an effort to learn the methods and technical aspects of tool making for heading and threading operations. Performs tool inspection and layout to ensure tools meet specifications. Accurately reads blueprints. Accurately utilizes micrometers, calipers and tool room support gauging and equipment. Manufactures tools and fixtures for other manufacturing departments as required. Manufactures parts for machine repair as required. Performs preventive maintenance on tool room equipment. Maintains machine tools and equipment in a safe operating condition and is always mindful of potential safety hazards. Procures parts, equipment and services from venders and processes necessary paperwork for purchasing of components. Maintains work area and machines in a clean and orderly fashion Disposes of waste material in and around work area. Follows all general safety rules, procedures and regulations. Assists engineering with new job development. Assists engineering with bill of material updates. Works with Tool Room Attendant to utilize obsolete tooling for present jobs through reworking internally or externally. Assists operators with tooling problems and works with Tool Room Attendant and engineering to resolve. Works with engineering on continuous improvement projects. Assists Tool Room Attendant in distribution of tools to proper areas. Reworks and builds new dies. WORK EXPERIENCE & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Strong mechanical aptitude. Advanced math skills including trigonometry and geometry. Minimum three years of tool and die experience or technical training. Ability to move freely around the plant. Lifting and transferring of a variety of materials weighing up to forty pounds.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES include: * Complete all setups and efficiently run moderate to very complex parts on Surface Grinders following detailed setup instructions. * Must consistently demonstrate the ability to meet critical engineering specifications as shown on engineering prints. * Must be capable of interpreting complex engineering drawings. * Demonstrate the ability to identify processes improvements and incorporate necessary changes. * Must be capable of developing well documented setup sheets, and other associated documentation necessary for efficient manufacturing of parts. * Communicate with Manufacturing Management Staff and Machinists for shift change over and process requirements. * Perform routine PM on machines (I.E. grease, oil, coolant, filters). KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience: * High School graduate or equivalent. * Minimum of 5+ years' experience setting up and operating Surface Grinders, grinding various types of materials. * Honing experience a plus. * Strong math skills. * Display strong communication skills and be capable of working from verbal and/or written instructions with minimum supervision. * The individual must perform his/her duties in conjunction with EHS personnel, in such a manner that neither he nor others are jeopardized in regards to safety. The position of Tool Room Machinist requires an intermediate skill level, responsible for developing machining methods, techniques, and processes to repair turbine engine components to specifications. Job Description We are seeking a skilled Tool & Die Machinist to support our production operations by performing routine and complex maintenance on stamping dies. The ideal candidate will be experienced in inspecting, repairing, sharpening, cleaning, and modifying progressive and/or transfer stamping dies to ensure optimal performance, part quality, and die longevity. Key Responsibilities: Inspect and assess stamping dies for wear, damage, or malfunction. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble dies using hand and power tools. Sharpen cutting and forming components using surface grinders and other precision machining equipment. Repair or replace worn or damaged die components (e.g., punches, dies, springs, guide pins). Troubleshoot die performance issues during production and recommend/implement corrective actions. Perform preventative maintenance on dies based on schedule or usage. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation. Operate manual machining equipment (lathes, mills, grinders) and potentially CNC equipment for die modification or component fabrication. Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize die performance. Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company and OSHA standards. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or apprenticeship in Tool & Die preferred. 3+ years of experience in tool and die maintenance, preferably in a stamping environment.
