As an R&D Machinist/Tool and Die Maker, you will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce extrusion tooling, blow molds and blow molding tooling, precision parts and other instruments in the Medina Packaging Development Center. You may also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools, quality equipment, production tooling, and apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

You Will
CNC program editing required, program creation required using MasterCam
Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and measuring instruments.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on metal stock for machining.
Sets up and operates machine tools such as manual lathes, milling machines and grinders, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications. CNC Milling machines like the Haas, Fadal, Hermle and DMU as well as CNC Lathes like the Haas, Okuma Howa and Mori Seiki.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process, making adjustments as necessary.
Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, indicators, gauge blocks, Starrett CMM machine, Mitutoyo Quick Scope and Optical Comparator.
You Have
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent with 3+ years working experience; Journeyman's or equivalent preferred.
Should have good communication skills; be detail-oriented, adaptable, cooperative and able to work as part of a team.
Working knowledge of extrusion or blow molding equipment a plus

As a Tool & Die Maker, you will support manufacturing by constructing and machining details for dies. Repairs and builds dies as well as prototypes. Operates tool room machinery to finish precision details used to repair and maintain dies. Assists in troubleshooting die issues at the press to maintain quality and production. Understands die functions and structure by studying prints of die, product, and prototypes; applies knowledge of materials, machining concepts and assembly methods, and mathematics.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Select, dress, set up, and use grinding wheels for surface grinding, and form grinding. Hand grind, polish and finish die components. (30%)
Perform die maintenance such as cleaning, inspection, sharpening, and preventive maintenance. Die repair, reconstruction and restoration of damaged dies as needed. (30%)
Machines parts by using lathe, mill, drill press, and other typical shop equipment. (20%)
Confirm assembly by verifying dimensions, clearances, and alignment of parts and components with micrometers, thickness gauges, gauge blocks, and dial indicators. Confirm performance of die at the press, check clearances, inspect operation, make adjustments, and compare finished product to specifications. (20%)

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting the Molding operation through Planned Maintenance. Must have a basic knowledge of what an injection mold is and how it functions. This individual will collaborate and organize internal resources to complete mold maintenance work across business units in a timely and in a cost effective manner. Must have a big picture view of the molding operation to determine the priority of work, understand a PM system and the ability to document and record critical data. Must have a proven strong mechanical and technical background and the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. Must have the ability to run machine tools in the shop as well as thorough knowledge of tool steels and applications as well as a basic concept of electrical. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Disassemble molds and determine parts needing to be repaired or replaced.
Clean mold plates and all components.
Check for proper gating, venting and cooling of mold.
Record and maintain all maintenance documentation as required.
Polish cavities and cores to specified finishes.
Must be able to troubleshoot and analyze problems with molds.
Read and understand blueprints, sketches, and schematics relating to molds.
Have the ability to use all measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, travel dials, and their applications) to measure and determine proper mold and component fits and tolerances within .0002” to .0005”.
Wire molds and read an OHM meter to understand basic electrical issues in diagnosing heater and thermocouple failures.
Construct or rebuild mold components per prints, using any or all machine tools available in Mold Repair area as well as the Tool Room.
Assemble mold and components maintaining proper dimensional tolerances.
Maintains an extremely clean and safe work area with an emphasis on 5's.
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Education:
Required : Associates degree - Machining Technology/Mold Making or Machinist/Mold Maker Certificate

Position Summary:
The Tool Room Technician plays a key support role in ITC Manufacturing's Columbus facility by helping ensure timely and effective machine setups. This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining common setup components such as air cylinders, hydraulic cylinders, and other mechanical parts used in mesh welding equipment. In addition, the technician will support the machine shop in resurfacing or fabricating small parts using manual machining equipment such as lathes, mills, and drill presses.
Key Responsibilities:
Disassemble, inspect, and repair pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, brackets, and other mechanical setup components
Resurface or fabricate small parts using manual machine tools including lathes, mills, and drill presses
Maintain inventory and readiness of commonly used setup parts to improve setup speed and reliability
Assist with troubleshooting component issues and recommending repair or replacement
Keep accurate records of repairs performed and parts serviced
Support setup teams by preparing and delivering refurbished components as needed
Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production staff to reduce downtime and improve setup efficiency
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols
Minimum requirements:
Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with industrial equipment or component repair required
Must have proven experience with machining operations such as turning, milling, and drilling
Knowledge of CNC (Haas &/or Accurite) a plus.
Ability to read mechanical drawings or sketches
Strong attention to detail and self-motivation
Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Welding or fabrication experience is a plus, but not required
Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload
Willingness to work independently and cross-functionally
Eagerness to learn and support process improvement efforts
Ability to work while standing for long periods
Can work successfully in a team environment and/or independently and is able to take direction from others.
Heavy lifting (up to 60 pounds) of materials, bending, and stooping may be required.
Punctuality a must
Self-Starter, Team Player
Quality driven in all aspects of the role.
Formal technical training a plus
SHIFT: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
