Toolchain is a key component of the company's Modern Delivery program. This role will be accountable for strategic leadership of Modern Delivery Toolchain as a Product! That includes, but not limited to overall vision, design, prioritization, stakeholder & risk management, roadmap execution & operations of the toolchain.
Develop solution design & roadmap for CICD automation with embedded controls for complex scenarios such as governance, experimentation using modular patterns to expand automation of emerging & established cloud native stack across industry standard cloud providers
Strategy to deliver business priorities such as configure and integrate automation of testing, security & risk management policy enforcement and of release management functions such as change record, asset records, change traceability
Drive operational excellence capabilities such as Single Sign-On, Monitoring Dashboards, Audit compliance reports, password & vulnerability management
Qualifications:
College Degree or equivalent experience; 10-15 years technology experience and 4+ years management experience
Use of multiple automation tools & plugins via API, Embedded scripts, Configuration for COTS tools for both pre & post actions for controls across tools for control activities such as merge checks, task/story approvals
Create a modular library for Jenkins DSL using Groovy; with strategy on when to determine refactor need & devise a staggered plan to meet enterprise automation use cases
Create, organize & manage a central set of templates across technology microservices (java, JS, python), automations (script runner, helm deployment patterns for cloud components such as storage, DB, gateway, vault across runtimes such as EKS, OCP using tools/products such as Rafay, Ansible, CFT, Terraform); with extensible framework as a design principle
Experience in integrating Jenkins for data product deployments like Attunity, Talend, Snowflake
Experience in designing and integrating with SAS products like salesforce, Automation anywhere(RPA), Appian, MicroStrategy etc.. for automating the build, deploy and release process
Design KPI indicators (including load & scalability) and monitor operation/ runtime across tools (such as Atlassian- Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence; Jenkins, Rafay), Integrations such as security (Fortify, Blackduck, Checkmarx, Twistlock, ELK), with strategy to manage continuous availability & code-based configuration to swap tools as needed
Design engineering productivity metrics, such as merge size/time/frequency/ releases to provide actionable insight for customers to evolve their software dev & delivery practices

The Job Shop Machinist performs unusual, specialty and highly diversified machinists work of irregular shapes and alloys such as stainless steel. Will be responsible for machining, finishing, and miscellaneous work assignments and duties as assigned using knowledge of commonly-used machining concepts, practices, and procedures. Must also know how to use hand tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Machinist (Engineering Technician IV) (EPFAB-2024-21819): Bowhead is seeking a qualified Machinist to join the Machine Shop team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in Virginia. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with the U.S. Navy in the development of prototypes and short-run production work, contributing to critical national defense projects. Our machinists are responsible for programming, setting up, and machining parts in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) specifications and models. The role involves working with a wide range of materials, including aluminum, exotic steels, plastics, Inconel, and titanium.
We provide comprehensive in-house training on SolidWorks and CAMWorks, offering opportunities for continuous skill development and career advancement. Government-provided tools will be available to support your work.
This intermediate to upper-level position requires a minimum of eight years of experience in machining and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. There may be occasions where the machinist will be required to assist colleagues with programming or machining techniques.
**Bowhead offers:**

**Responsibilities**

Comply with DoD drawings and hold tight tolerances on machined parts. Machinists will operate saws and occasionally use manual lathes and mills. They are expected to use common measuring tools such as dial calipers and micrometers to inspect their parts.
**Qualifications**
+ Must have a high school diploma.
+ Must have at least eight (8) years of professional experience operating CNC milling machines and lathes. (Technical training may be considered as experience)
+ Must be proficient at drawing and programing using CAD/CAM software. SolidWorks and CAMWorks are what the shop uses.
+ Basic level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook.

The Machinist is responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts. This position is part of the Kollmorgen team in Radford, VA. Kollmorgen is part of Regal Rexnord.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties satisfactorily:
Program CNC lathe and CNC milling machine to perform turning, boring, facing, counterboring, grooving, drilling, tapping, and milling.
Chasing threads to different class fits, inside or outside diameters, turn tapers to the degrees, minutes and seconds.
Perform all setups on machines, some requiring the use of special fixtures and other improvised methods for holding and aligning work to avoid distortion of parts.
Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
Select, recommend, and advise type of tooling needed to perform machining operations.
Check feeds and speeds necessary to machine parts, maintain constant check to ensure adherence to close tolerance and co-related dimensions on shoulders, diameters, bore faces, slot grooves and high degree of squareness, concentricity and parallelism. Perform first-piece inspection.
Sharpen and replace ordinary tooling and replace tooling that has become dull.
Detect and report to coordinator any defective material or other unusual conditions.
Coordinate with other machinists and supervisor.
Work with QE and ME for product quality.
Communicate with buyer/planner for material needed.
Lubricate and clean equipment used.
Keep work area orderly and observe prescribed safety rules at all times.
Design fixtures, tooling, or experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.
Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
Education and Experience Requirements
Associates degree in Machine Technology or equivalent certification or experience preferred.
Minimum of three years of progressively difficult machinist experience is preferred.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods.
Critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills to identify alternative and correct solutions.
Self-motivated and capable of completing tasks without supervision and within time limits.
Must be able to maintain very close tolerances (.0003 or better). Requires a very high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Operates Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machine to: bore, mill, drill, and tap bearing cap. Utilizes blueprints and work orders with care to proper dimensions to ensure compatibility with housing, and input shaft. Uses hand tools and gauges to deburr and measure proper tolerance levels. Verify, document, and consolidate for next stages of manufacturing. Operates multiple stations and aperatures to machine bearing caps.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Utilizes gauges and tools to accurately assess tolerance of all housings for accuracy.
* Performs job duties from verbal and written instructions while interpreting blueprints, drawings, and other work orders.
* Ensures compliance with current Technical Specifications (TS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) accepted manufacturing practices.
* Sets up, cleans, and inspect tools. Cell, store and/or load in machine as required.
* Obtains tools, fixtures, jigs, details, etc. as required.
* Performs machine offsets, program changes, and/or adjustments and replacements to assure required quality and machine operation.
* Programs, edits, and maintains Material Management Controllers (MMC) for center.
* Performs first piece sheet and audit inspections daily.
* Adheres to established safety procedures and 5 "S" standards (Sort, set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the cycle) required to perform daily duties in this position, including the proper techniques used in lifting/moving of parts weighing 40lbs or more.
* Operates equipment to highest production and quality standards daily.
* Operates computerized gauging for data collection and quality verification.
* Maintains all fluid levels of equipment and reports malfunctions and safety issues to supervisor or maintenance as soon as possible.
* Verifies that own work follows requirements and correct errors in own work, minimizing scrap.
* Check's part numbers and places them in appropriate shipping containers.
* Performs and reviews Statistical Process Control (SPC); including but not limited to data collection, charts, and graphs.
* Performs record-keeping duties and maintain accurate production counts.
