Flippo Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Small Tool Mechanic to join our team. The Small Tools Mechanic is primarily responsible for conducting repairs to small mechanical tools used for construction. The Small Tool Mechanic will work in Flippo's maintenance shop, located in Forestville, MD.
Responsibilities:

* Conduct maintenance and repair of small tools to include generators, chain saws, pipe saws, tamper ram "jumping jack", and pneumatic tools.
* Conduct calibration of gas testers.
* Make hoses for pumps.
* Assist the shop Mechanics with mechanical maintenance and repair of trucks and construction equipment as directed.
* Maintain all personal and company provided tools in good working condition.
* All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

* Must have demonstrated small tool repair experience.
* Ability to climb up and down from equipment.
* Ability to carry tools, equipment, or materials up to 70 pounds.
* Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, climb, and walk.
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
* Must have transportation to and from work.

Boeing Test & Evaluation has openings for Metrology Tooling Mechanics in which the selected candidates apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate inspection, measurement and test equipment.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

* Perform calibration inspections on measurement and tests equipment in lab and onsite for accuracy in accordance with established calibration procedures; (e.g. Chemical, Electrical, RF, Physical/Dimensional, Light/Color, Mass/Weight, Sound, Electrical, Pressure/Flow, Temperature, Force, Mass, Velocity, Torque & Volume, Time/Frequency equipment, systems and controls).
* May assist in creating calibration procedures for new equipment.
* Develop, prepare, and maintain all documentation related to calibration equipment.
* Ensure that calibration paperwork, instrument files, and work order documentation is completed with accurate information
* Generates certificates of calibration and/or out of tolerance reports as required and in correct media appropriate to meet customer requirements.
* Perform testing on electronic components to determine functionality level and capacity.
* Maintains secondary or intrinsic and/or working calibration standards. Uses calibration software when required to expedite calibration times and to adjust calibration devices.
* Ensure that all work orders are closed out appropriately and contain the required data, reports, and documentation

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

* High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
* Experience working with calibrated equipment
* Experience working in metrology

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

* Associate's Degree from a technical program and/or college
* Prior PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) experience highly desired

Typical Education/Experience:

* Military (PMEL) training or Tech school

Relocation

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Additional Information

* The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.
* This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.
* New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) working days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of any required training and the probationary period.
