Must demonstrate mechanical reasoning skills and ability. Must have excellent deductive reasoning and troubleshooting skills. Must correctly practice all safety procedures. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. Skill in the use of hand tools, drills, grinders, saws, and other related equipment preferred. A manufacturing company is seeking a Tool Maker/Manual Machinist who will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines to produce high-quality precision components for tooling to make parts according to customer specifications. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Job Duties: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each machining operation Align and secure work pieces using clamps, vises, and other holding devices Perform machining operations, including turning, facing, boring, drilling, tapping, milling, surface grinding, and threading, with precision and adherence to quality standards Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators, to verify part accuracy. Make necessary adjustments and modifications to tooling to maintain quality and productivity Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues and related to stamping and fabricating tooling Collaborate with engineering and production teams improve product quality through better tool design Set up and operate CNC Machining Center and Wire EDM (as required, training available) Complete work orders, production reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area Perform other duties as assigned
