Develop prototypes and test new programs/methods working in a hands-on environment with shop floor personnel to gain feedback on potential improvements.
Assists Quality Department in identifying and correcting programming issues that led to non-conformances.
Provides time studies, router, and job cost review to ensure standards are up to date and being met.
Create and or maintain documentation of all types as required.
Follow work instructions, procedures, safety, and company policies as given.

3 + years of Machine Shop experience required - CNC Mill, Lathe, and or Grind.
3+ years as a CNC Programmer. A MUST HAVE
Siemens NX experience is required. A MUST HAVE
FANUC and Okuma CNC Controls experience preferred.
VERICUT software experience preferred.
Must be well-versed in various cutting tools for super alloys.

A Tool and Die Maker at Talan Products will be integral to our metal stamping operations, ensuring precision and quality in the fabrication and maintenance of tools and dies. This role involves interpreting specifications, blueprints, and sketches to determine the materials and processes necessary for creating and repairing metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the metal stamping industry and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Duties + Responsibilities
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety protocols and equipment operation procedures.
Blueprint Analysis: Review and interpret specifications, blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions to determine materials required and the machinery needed for part fabrication.
Layout and Planning: Calculate dimensions, plan layouts, and determine assembly methods and sequences of operations.
Machining: Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and hones to machine parts. Ensure machined parts meet precise specifications.
Assembly and Fitting: Position and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables. Assemble parts into complete assemblies and mechanisms, verifying dimensions, alignments, and clearances to ensure proper function.
Tool and Die Maintenance: Inspect standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures; recommend and implement design modifications to enhance construction and functionality.
Troubleshooting: Analyze quality reports, such as CMM readings and quality inspection sheets, to adjust stamping dies and address any issues promptly.
Documentation: Maintain accurate daily labor records, complete tool logbooks, and other necessary documentation to support departmental operations.
Work Environment Management: Maintain a clean, organized work environment, keeping all equipment, dies, tools, and work areas free of dirt, debris, clutter, oil, and water.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. However, from time to time, oversee and mentor apprentices as needed, ensuring they adhere to best practices and safety standards.
Physical Demands + Work Environment
The employee must be able to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds and work comfortably in a noisy and potentially hazardous industrial environment. Additionally, they should be capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods. During job duties, the employee may also need to sit, stoop, kneel, climb, or balance occasionally. They must frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and a risk of electrical shock. There is occasional exposure to high, precarious places, and specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
