MAJOR FUNCTION:

Under limited supervision, builds and repairs tooling, steel rule dies and fixtures in a timely and efficient manner to support the requirements of manufacturing in meeting the customers demands. This is a 2nd shift position.. 2:30 pm- 11:00 pm.

Pay: $26.70/hour
+3rd shift Differential pay of $0.50
Shift: Swing shift- alternates one week, 7am-3pm and the next week 3pm-11pm

Day to day responsibilities:
Responsible for understanding and following all applicable Safety and Housekeeping procedures for position and assist in developing procedures as required Perform Preventive Maintenance tasks as documented in IQMS module and assist in documentation of task completion and new task development Follow priorities with regards to daily mold setup requirements and mold repair Assist in documentation of mold assembly and set up procedures Assist Production personnel with in-machine insert changes Work with outside Machine shops in coordination of repair work as needed

Requirements/Experience:
Minimum two years machine shop/mold maintenance experience is required w/High School Degree or equivalent.Basic understanding of Electrical Circuits and HydraulicsBasic mechanical aptitude and understanding of metrology (and related equipment) Working knowledge of Windows based PC programs Must receive passing score on Work Keys Mathematics and Mechanical Aptitude tests to be considered.

The Mold Tech III is responsible for efficiently performing in-house maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plastic Injection and plastic Thermoforming molds to meet quality standards within the scheduled timeframe.
Essential Functions
• Performs Injection Mold repair, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, insert change over, disassemble, clean, minor polishing and reassembly of Plastic Injection and Thermoform molds.
• Repairs molds with minimal supervision.
• Handles molds safely to ensure the safety of employees, equipment, and tooling.
• Supports the manufacturing departments as needed to perform mold functionality, repairs, and occasionally troubleshoot processing performance.
• Responsible for completing projects/assignments as directed by the Supervisor, Manager or Engineer.
• Inspects, analyzes and determines mold needs, verify dimensions using micrometers, gauge, dial indicators and other related precision instruments.
• Operate various machines such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, drill presses, etc.
• Dismantles mold to perform required work.
• Operates forklift and overhead hoist.
• Inputs information of the maintenance performed into the AS400 system.
• Meet deadlines and efficient routing of job through shop in a timely manner.
• Interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Effectively present information one-on-one, and to small groups as needed.
