The Opportunity
ERA is looking for an Attorney/Counsel with proven litigation experience in employment law and in the civil rights space. As a Senior Counsel or Senior Staff Attorney, you will be responsible for engaging in all aspects of impact and individual litigation, developing new cases for litigation, assisting in crafting litigation strategy, drafting and reviewing amicus briefs, and developing and maintaining litigation relationships to advance ERA's mission. The Senior Counsel or Senior Staff Attorney will report to ERA's Director of Litigation.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct cutting-edge impact and individual litigation, including legal research; investigating facts, working with clients; drafting pleadings, briefs and legal memoranda; engaging in discovery and motion practice; and conducting evidentiary hearings and oral arguments in court.
Identify and develop new matters for litigation by conducting factual, legal and strategic analyses and formulating relevant theories and materials.
Draft amicus briefs and review amicus briefs drafted by others for possible ERA involvement.
Develop collaborative partnerships with other advocacy groups, legal services providers, plaintiffs' attorneys, law firms, and other partners by participating in task forces and coalitions, attending conferences, and co-counseling lawsuits.
Provide legal and strategy analysis, technical assistance, and thought leadership on substantive issues related to ERA's mission to attorneys, government agencies, officials and staff, the media, worker and student organizations, and grassroots advocates when called upon by ERA leadership, departments, and programs.

Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications:
J.D. and at least one active bar membership;
A minimum of four (4) years of post-J.D. litigation experience, including drafting case documents and engaging in discovery and motions practice, including at least 3 years of experience litigating employment discrimination cases;
Demonstrated commitment to social, gender, and racial justice with a passion for achieving equity and economic justice for women, girls, and/or LGBTQI+ people;
Outstanding research, writing, and analytical skills;

Compensation & Benefits
This position has a salary range of $85,000 - $125,000. The salary and job title (Senior Staff Attorney vs. Senior Counsel) will be determined based on years of experience and expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities
May perform any or all the following duties:
Accountable and responsible through staff for the daily management and monitoring of the classified network systems and server infrastructure, ensuring 24x7 availability, reliability, and sufficient capacity, all while ensuring that classified network systems and services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
Accountable and responsible through staff for RAND's classified workstation environment including asset accountability, desktop/laptop configuration, and incident management.
Directs staff in the daily monitoring, assessment, and management of RAND's classified network, servers, and workstations; stays aware of developing information security risks and has responsibility for promptly and effectively reporting and responding to those risks.

Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Minimum 10 years of information technology experience to include a minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience. Minimum of 4 years leadership experience in managing highly audited network and computing environments.

Proven ability to provide high network and computing availability, for the security of the systems, and the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Grants management

Prepare accurate monthly pledge receivables and global accounts receivable and deferred revenue schedule;
Develop and implement robust revenue recognition policies and procedures;
Work closely with the Regional Controllers to ensure all global revenue and receivables are reconciled and up-to-date for the monthly close;
Post revenue related inter-company closing and fund entries to assist in the preparation of accurate consolidated financials;
Escalate all donor related revenue and collection issues with the Global Controller and the CFO in a timely manner;
Provide necessary training and support to the field finance team related to revenue and accounts receivable process;
Lead the enhancement of revenue-related systems and workflows;
Support donor, statutory and organizational audit process by preparing accurate revenue and inter-company account reconciliation and supporting documentation schedules;
Treasury
Supervise the treasury accountant in ensuring accurate and timely notification and recording of all HQ cash receipts and donor payments;
Ensure all bank and accounts reconciliations for HQ office is reviewed and reconciled;
Prepare and post to general ledger investment account reconciliations schedule;
Work closely with the Treasury Accountant in maintaining accurate fund balance cash position for all donors;
Develop, manage and supervise the treasury accountant;
Other ad hoc and special projects as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 7 years of experience in financial and grants management in an international work setting (or Master's Degree plus 5 years experience).
Experience working in an international NGO and exposure to global operations
Experience dealing with USG donors and supporting OMB audits
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or actively working towards a CMA, CPA certifications.
Microsoft Dynamics Sylogist Mission and Raiser's Edge system experiences preferred.
Experience working for an international NGO, operating in Africa and Latin and Central America countries.
