Purpose
Accountable for basic operation of the site's quality assurance and control program including but not limited to: assisting and supporting all safety, environmental and quality regulations, product testing and adherence to standards, targets and recipes, maintain relevant equipment and calibrations, and decision-making through basic statistical understanding.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all work in accordance with safety rules and regulations and participate in facility health & safety activities as assigned
Use descriptive statistics to identify non-conforming material to site referenced standards and targets
Ensure all relevant quality requirements are consistently met according to the QA manual and plant SOPs
Ensure that non-conforming product is appropriately quarantined, identified and segregated according to standard procedures
Ensure the communication of non-conformance is clear and concise to required parties.
Disposition basic non-conforming product as allowed by site Technical Manager.
Record testing and inspection results by inputting into appropriate database or spreadsheets while identifying and responding to test results outside of product standards and targets
Verify that all product packaging and appearance standards meet site and client expectations.
Generate and analyze reports and charts
Monitor and document process parameter changes as assigned
Communicate test results and observations to operations and management to maintain process and product conformance
Monitor and record consumption and inventory of raw materials (wax, resin, etc.).
Verify quality of raw materials as required
Support preventive and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
Assist in process and product tests/trials.
Be pro-active in identifying and performing other tasks to maintain and improve safety, quality and environmental performance
Demonstrate adherence to process and product SOPs, JSAs, check sheets and other QMS documentation
Provide support to team members when a quality issue arises
Demonstrate drive and willingness to advance to higher levels of responsibility
Perform in a relief capacity for production coordinator
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree and two years of experience in laboratory work, quality control, or general manufacturing; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
Knowledge of and ability to follow all quality and process standards
Demonstrated ability to operate a computer and supporting software, to include spreadsheet and statistical packages
Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and production processes
Demonstrated ability to operate sample preparation and testing equipment
Knowledge of inventory management
Excellent verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills
Proficient math skills and statistical knowledge, including concepts
Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of material handling equipment (both hand tools and electrical/motorized equipment)
Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50 pounds
Demonstrated ability to work while wearing a respirator and/or other safety clothing or equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in Forest Products, Engineering, Wood Science or related scientific field preferred
Three (3) years composite or engineered wood manufacturing experience

GENERAL POSITION SMMARY:
This is an entry to intermediate level position that exists to produce Orenco products. A successful OMT (Orenco Manufacturing Tech) will move with a sense of purpose and urgency from task to task, be cooperative, demonstrate drive/self-motivation, stay positive in the face of difficulties, make good use of work time, work well with other team members, and retain information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA:
> Safety/Culture
Continuously maintains Orenco Management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.
Loads or fills molds with appropriate raw materials, pays attention to detail.
Reads production drawings and assembles various subcomponents into finished products using epoxies, glues, resins, screws, nuts, and bolts.
Trims, sands, grinds, drills, and/or routers fiberglass parts into accurate finished products.
Recognizes part defects and makes appropriate repairs.
Uses PPE (personal protective equipment) in the correct manner and performs proper chemical storage and labeling.
Follows all safety rules diligently.
Uses power tools in a safe manner, maintains equipment, and cleans work area on a daily basis.
Pays close attention to detail when completing any task.
Follows SOP's (standard operating procedure) and MOP's (machine operating procedure) in all areas.
Uses tablet and computer to enter and retrieve data.
Keeps Lead Technician and Supervisor informed of any material, equipment, safety, or quality issues.
Reads and interprets work orders, completing projects in preparation for shipment using manufacturing drawings and established SOP's.
Sets up and uses various jigs and fixtures.
Boxes, packages, and labels various finished products in preparation for shipment.
Empties shop trash cans and cardboard bins.
Operates the cardboard compacter when needed.
Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional overtime may be required.
Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
Performs other duties as assigned in any area assigned.
> Systems Production
Cuts various lengths of PVC, Polyethylene, and ABS (Acrylonitrile- Butadiene-Styrene) pipe, tubing, sheets, and Polyester filter fabric in the manufacture of various components and finished products.
Drills, saws, grinds, sands, sews, and welds fiberglass, PVC, ABS, and Polyethylene pipe, tubing, sheets, miscellaneous fittings, components, and Polyester filter fabric.
Dispenses and applies methacrylate adhesive, superglue, and various PVC cements in the manufacture of various components and finished products.
Grinds, trims, and reams other finished products in preparation for shipment.
EDUCATION:
No minimum required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Less than one year of experience in Orenco Manufacturing shops.
Completion of the two-hour Emergency Response & HW (HazWopper) Training, and annual follow up training is required.
Training description: Emergency communication, alarms, and evacuation routes, contingency plan implementation/emergency response procedures, emergency equipment use.
Hazardous waste management - handling and storage rules.
Good communication and team building skills.
Ability to be flexible and adjust to priority changes with little notice and to remain calm during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
Ability to use sound judgement and follow-through in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
Ability to follow instructions, work quickly, efficiently, independently, and as a team member.
Ability to use and read a tape measure.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor/outdoor production environment involving exposure to chemicals and dust. Some tasks may be performed in Alternate Entry or true Confined Spaces. Respirators may be required for most jobs and are required for certain, very specific job duties within the class. Employee must be medically certified and receive proper fit testing and training before use. Protective equipment such as Tyvek suits, dust masks, ear protection, and gloves are provided. Forced air hoods are not required but are available for use in the grinding area upon request. These do not require a medical evaluation or fit testing but do require a one time training on use and maintenance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Seeing, speaking, hearing, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, holding, repetitive use of hands, twisting, squatting, bending, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, and long periods of standing and walking on concrete floors. Regular job duties require frequent unassisted lifting of 20-50 lbs. and occasionally up to 70lbs. Lifting over 70 lbs. must be assisted.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To include but not limited to the following:
Zeiss/Calypso CMM operation. Running preexisting programs.
QA technician and final inspector for precision CNC machined parts
Primary operator for the dedicated metrology equipment - CMM, Optical comparator etc.
Key contributor and participant - Quality Management System (AS9100).
Responsible for QA data management with in the Quality Tracking Database Software - Unipoint
Non-Conformance verification of parts using the either alternate CMM or manual inspection methods. Checking flatness, perpendicularity, parallelism etc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Extremely detail oriented and focused on helping to maintain consistent quality standards
Ability to read, understand, and interpret internal and customer provided mechanical prints including GD&T
Strong communication skills and able to work as a team member when parts/assemblies are determined to be out of tolerance during final inspection
Experience with a wide variety of metrology equipment including CMM, Optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc. required
Experience with manual and/or automated CMM preferred (including formatting of CMM reports)
Experience working within an AS 9100 registered organization is preferred
Able to work overtime and weekend shifts as needed
Preference will be given to candidates with prior CNC machinist experience
CQI or CQT preferred.
Working knowledge of Zeiss CMM's with Calypso software

This role is responsible for executing precision inspection for complex parts and for training and developing current and future metrology personnel to a defined standard. The position will lead the creation, implementation, and ongoing management of the company's CMM Training Manual, establishing a unified standard of metrology practices for all company sites, domestic and international.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To include but not limited to the following:
Develop, validate, and optimize CMM programs to support NPI parts, ensuring compliance with customer drawings, GD&T, and process of record requirements.
Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production to establish robust inspection strategies that mitigate risk in early-stage builds.
Troubleshoot and resolve dimensional inspection challenges, ensuring on-time delivery of inspection data.
