Job Description
Provides an advanced level of comprehensive dental care of pediatric, adult and special needs population under the direction of the Chief of Dentistry. Provides patient care and treatment consistent with the mission and values of the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute (UMROI) and in accordance within the scope of practice, professional, and regulatory standards.
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age, culture, ethnicity, and specific individual diagnostic needs of the patients served in his/her department. He/she must be able to assess and interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's specific needs and provide the care needed by the patient group (pediatric, adolescents and/or geriatric patient group, culture and diagnostic specific).
Consistently expresses and demonstrates compassion and courtesy for patients. Extends courtesy and support to patient's families/visitors.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Current licensure to practice in the state of MD is required.
CPR Certification is required.
Credentialed according to Medical Staff Bylaw.
Graduate from an accredited Dental School.
Completion of a pediatric dental residency program. At least one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Position Summary
The Department of Neurological Surgery is seeking to recruit an experienced outpatient Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical care and clinical research in collaboration with the attending physician. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for evaluating and managing patients with neurological conditions that may require neurosurgery.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform and document a complete medical history and physical examination to formulate diagnoses and treatment plan.
Order and review appropriate laboratory tests and imaging studies.
Review preoperative medical clearance and optimize patients as needed.

Position Key Accountabilities:

MentalHealth Counselor for Student Accessibility and Support Specific Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintains availability within the SASS office to provide in-the-moment brief intervention, crisis response, drop-in hours, outreach, and consultation for SASS students.
* Provides neurodiversity and disability informed intakes, single sessions, initial assessments, short-term individual counseling, group therapy, crisis intervention, and referral services to students registered with Student Accessibility and Support Services.
* Facilitates psycho-educational groups, support groups, and skills training for students with various neurodivergent conditions with a particular focus on social skills development.
* Utilizes both flexible and goal-oriented approaches to individual treatment, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, social skills training, executive functioning support, and interpersonal therapy.
* Develops, implements, and evaluates clinical services, outreach, and training to meet the identified mentalhealth needs of students with physical, mental, emotional, and developmental disabilities including those with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities, chronic mental illness, and other elements of neurodiversity.
* Recognizes the strengths of students with disabilities as well as their challenges and utilizes best practices and current research in supporting their academic and social/emotional needs.

Requirements:
Qualifications
* PhD, PsyD, MSW, or M.A. in MentalHealth Counseling or related field.
* Licensed to practice in the state of Maryland: LCSW-C, LCPC, LMSW, LGPC, or licensed psychologist.
* Experience providing mentalhealth treatment to individuals with disabilities including Autism Spectrum, Learning Disabilities, and ADHD and/or willingness to engage in training opportunities to develop knowledge and skills.
* Demonstrates understanding of and experience in supporting the specific mentalhealth and wellness needs of individuals from marginalized populations (BIPOC, LGBTQIA, first generation, etc.).

The MentalHealth Counselor for Student Belonging participates in the full range of generalist mentalhealth counseling service delivery, with a specific focus on ensuring all students experience a sense of belonging within the McDaniel community. Operating from the understanding that a sense of belonging is a critical component of well-being, this MentalHealth Counselor collaborates closely with the Office of Student Belonging and other campus partners to provide an integrated approach to supporting the holistic well-being of a diverse community of students.
