To optimize the activity and participation of over 700 athletes participating in 23 NCAA Division III-sanctioned sports and club sports as assigned. Responsibilities Athletic Team Coverage Serve as certified athletic trainer for intercollegiate athletic and club teams. Attending home and away games as assigned. Assist and support the Director of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine with all supervisory and athletic event coverage. Assist the Director of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine in the design and implementation of a comprehensive program of injury prevention and injury care. Administrative Responsibilities Assist and support the Director of Athletic Training with record keeping and data entry, including medical clearance, injury, treatment, and medical referral documentation. This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and/or a Title IX Mandatory Reporter under the Clery Act and Title IX. As such, the successful candidate will be required to report any known or suspected incidents of sexual misconduct, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and other specified crimes to the appropriate campus authorities. This position requires maintaining current certification as an athletic trainer through the BOC, Inc., and current certification in Emergency Cardiac Care. This position requires travel with teams to athletic competitions, including overnight and out-of-state trips. It requires flexibility in scheduling and evening and/or weekend hours. Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in athletic training, physical education, kinesiology, or related field of study or combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. Course work must include completion of the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) curriculum requirements. Incumbent must possess and maintain BOC certification. Must possess general knowledge of the principles and practices of Athletic Training including: conditioning and injury prevention, as well as injury assessment and rehabilitation; the full range of therapeutic modalities and their practical use and physiological basis; other applicable therapeutic preventions; effective use of rehabilitation and exercise equipment; rules, regulations, and guidelines established by the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) pertaining to student athletes, their training, sports medicine care, health, and safety; Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) standards for handling Blood Borne Pathogens; maintaining training room records, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
