Touro College of Pharmacy (TCOP) invites applications for 12-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences. The successful candidate will have both educational and research experience related to Pharmacology. The University places a high priority on teaching excellence and research success with an expectation that the candidate will also be active in their professional field. The successful candidate will be expected to support the TCOP program through teaching and course administration duties and responsibilities as outlined further below. Although a commitment to excellence in teaching is the primary responsibility of the position, faculty members also serve on the administrative committees of the college, supervise and mentor pharmacy students and are expected to already have, or to develop scholarly activity that results in peer-reviewed publications.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with other Course Coordinators and faculty instructors consistent with the shared TCOP curriculum, the faculty has the following major duties and responsibilities:
Direct course planning and organization in Pharmacology and other related courses.
Develop a detailed course syllabus that is prepared according to the TCOP syllabus template.
Ensure that materials such as lecture videos, lecture notes, power point presentations, and cases have been completed, properly edited for content/grammatical errors, and posted to the students in a timely fashion
Contribute to the course evaluation process as per TCOP policy.
Collaborate on course management, including course updates, lecture development, exam preparation and review.
Work with all contributing faculty to ensure that the learning needs of all TCOP students are met
Advise students on questions about course materials and course administration, including referring students to the appropriate person for content questions.
Engage in scholarship/research consistent with the mission and vision of TCOP,
Fulfill committee assignments assigned by the Dean.
Participate in interviews process as assigned by the Dean.
Satisfactory completion of faculty development and responsibilities according to annual goals established between faculty and chair.
Actively participate in the Touro University Faculty Development and Evaluation Programs.
Participate in student advising and provide guidance to the students of TCOP.
Duties and responsibilities specific to one's academic department, as assigned by the Department Chair.
Qualifications Education/Experience
PharmD, MD, DO, PhD or equivalent degree in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical/Biomedical Sciences or a closely related field is required.
Teaching experience in pharmacology, physiology, pathophysiology, microbiology, immunology and/or a related field in a pharmacy, medical school, or graduate school is highly desirable.
Experience with the development of an MS degree program and an active participation in the program is desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for exceptional teaching at the pharmacy, medical, or graduate level in the areas of pharmacology, demonstrate potential for research/scholarship, and work well with the rest of faculty team.
Proficiency in team building, relevant content expertise, research techniques, instructional design/delivery/assessment, course management, and public speaking.
The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, have relevant content expertise, and have a passion for teaching.
Basic computer skills supporting the proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel as well as software used to prepare and administer written exams electronically.

Clinical responsibilities are shared among the members of the ID division and include daily rounding on a busy inpatient service with trainees and an ID- PharmD.
We have a very active hospital epidemiology service and members of the division are actively involved in IP&C and antimicrobial stewardship. These activities include research, mentorship, and additional skill development. Our group is highly collaborative, working closely with colleagues in other sub-specialty divisions as well as with the epidemiologists and ID physicians throughout the New York-Presbyterian 9 acute care campus system.
We are also actively involved in teaching at all levels, with learners from VP&S, the Mailman School of Public Health, pediatric residents and post-doctoral fellows. Our faculty frequently serves as mentors on the scholarly projects of these learners.

Notably, MS CHONY is home to one of the nation's busiest pediatric liver transplant programs. The clinical acuity at the MS CHONY is the highest of all children's hospitals in the US. MS CHONY is an exclusively pediatric facility, with ten operating rooms, an endo/bronchoscopy suite, and a diagnostic/imaging suite. The division provides specialized care for babies in the neonatal intensive care unit and children in the pediatric critical care unit and directs a dedicated pediatric pain management program and regional anesthesia service. Many of the activities and services of the Pediatric Anesthesiology division are integrated with the recently created Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology division, which serves the largest pediatric cardiac surgical program in New York.
The division features a robust clinical program at MS CHONY, with ten operating rooms, two endoscopy rooms, and three diagnostic and interventional imaging rooms. The division also provides specialized care in an active neonatal intensive care unit and operates a dedicated pediatric pain management program.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished physician with a strong record in clinical care, education, and scholarship in pediatric anesthesiology. The Division Chief will foster the scholarly activity of pediatric anesthesiology faculty and fellows, maintain the division's exceptional standards of clinical care, and promote collaborative relationships with surgeons, pediatricians, and other clinical teams.

In this role, the successful candidate would work collaboratively with physician assistant colleagues and colleagues from other disciplines, maintain clinical practice competence, remain actively involved in professional organizations, maintain scholarship in their field, and actively seek opportunities for and participate in faculty governance.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Department Chair and Program Director, responsible for:

Coordination and instruction of didactic and clinical year PA students including lecture content, physical diagnosis, and procedural lab instruction

The Department of Clinical Health Professions is seeking applications for 1 (one) twelve-month, tenure track Assistant Professor position to teach and lead in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences program. The faculty member will report to the Dean and Department Chair
Essential Functions:
Primary teaching responsibilities include clinical laboratory science courses in the professional year; additional teaching responsibilities in areas of clinical or academic expertise required. All department faculty participate in department, college and university service, and scholarly activity. The ideal candidate would have a commitment to excellence in teaching and work well in an interdisciplinary, team-oriented environment.
Competencies
Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising; documents three years' clinical experience in the professional discipline; documents three years' experience as an instructor in a NAACLS accredited program; holds current MLS (ASCP) certification and a license as a clinical laboratory technologist from the NYS Department of Education.
Work Environment
This position operates in a workspace area designated by the Dean and Department Chair. Standard office equipment including printers, scanners and a loaner laptop will be provided by the institution.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; move about; sit; to carry work and use controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; communicate. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the employee include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Environmental Conditions
The CLS faculty will be involved in training students for the Clinical Laboratory Sciences profession. Certain testing modalities may require personal protective equipment and may include exposure/contact to noise, odors, gases, and dust.

The position is full-time, and the expected hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Travel
Travel is primarily local and may include visits to the other NYC clinical sites. Some travel may be out-of-area. Overnight travel may be required for professional conference attendance.

Candidate must hold a Master's. degree. Minimum 3 years previous teaching experience at a NAACLS accredited program required.
Holds current MLS (ASCP) certification and a license as a clinical laboratory technologist from the NYS Department of Education

The Division of Computer Science, Mathematics and Science offers 3 ABET accredited undergraduate degrees in Computer Science, Cyber Security Systems and Information Technology. Additionally, it also offers undergraduate degrees in Networking Systems, and Healthcare Informatics, as well as master's degrees in Data Science, Computer Science, and Cyber and Information Security. The division is the leading unit at St. John's in AI studies. Research on AI is increasing in both quality and quantity.
