Perform assigned priority technical procedures and maintain a safe environment for patients. 2. Provide care services like basic life support (CPR), Adl's, restorative care, calculates intake and output, lifting, ambulating, transferring, positioning, weights, equipment use, vital signs, phlebotomy, dressing changes, obtaining Ekg's, etc. 3. Prepare patient room, chart in the electronic medical record, clean unit equipment, orders inventory medical/office supplies and perform other tasks as needed 4. Prioritize assigned tasks and patient care activities based on acuity of the need, resource availability, customer/patient preference/request and other departmental needs. 5. Report abnormal patient findings and situations to RN or other licensed healthcare providers and takes actions to correct unsafe conditions. 6. Give rationale for actions or decisions based on logic, successful experience, intuition and/or established policies/procedures. 7. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to identify actions to improve patient care: 8. Seek supervision or assistance when unable to perform effectively or safely and independently. 9. Initiate and/or maintain job specific interventions to assure continuity of safe and effective care for patients. 10. Delegate tasks to other team members to accomplish direct patient care or support activities. 11. Question appropriateness of a task that has been delegated by the RN/Licensed healthcare provider for clarification of concerns. The Must-Haves Minimum: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent, appropriate work experience. 2. 1 year of Clinical Care experience; CNA or PCT experience in a healthcare setting preferred. 3. Certified Medical Assistant (MA) - American Association of Medical Assistants or 4. Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - Louisiana State Department of Health 5. WK Pierremont is looking for a full time 7a-7pTelemetry Tech. We are opening new beds and seeking to add to our team. Candidates will be required to pass an EKG test prior to interview (including heart blocks) with a minimum score of 80%. You will be responsible for providing constant surveillance of heart rhythm for patients on remote monitoring. Current knowledge of cardiac rhythms and the ability to measure and document them appropriately is required. This position also requires patient interaction when placing or troubleshooting the telemetry box on those patients who require cardiac monitoring. An orientation period of approximately 6 weeks includes being assigned to a preceptor who will help ensure your ability to perform all tasks required in the job description. The minimum requirement is a high school education or the equivalent and the willingness to take our Department of Transportation drug screening class. Your job is more than a job. 12 hour Night shift from 6:30p-7a The EKG Technician is responsible for performing all 12 lead electrocardiograms and/or rhythm strip on patients across the hospital. Responsible for obtaining two high quality traces on each patient for better clarity. Recognizes and reports changes from previous EKG tracings as well as any life-threatening arrhythmias. Performs clerical functions necessary for maintenance of the EKG record according to the established policies of the department and LCMC Health. GENERAL DUTIES Performs electrocardiograms: Performs routine EKGs according to department protocols. Responds to Code Blue through the hospital for emergent EKGs. Preparation of Patient Charts/Orders for Physician Review: Prepares EKGs for interpretation and further use by the provider Ensures that all patient charges are entered and track in the available radiology system. Your job is more than a job. 12 hour Night shifts 6:30p-7am The EKG Technician is responsible for performing all 12 lead electrocardiograms and/or rhythm strip on patients across the hospital. Responsible for obtaining two high quality traces on each patient for better clarity. Recognizes and reports changes from previous EKG tracings as well as any life-threatening arrhythmias. Performs clerical functions necessary for maintenance of the EKG record according to the established policies of the department and LCMC Health. GENERAL DUTIES Performs electrocardiograms: Performs routine EKGs according to department protocols. Responds to Code Blue through the hospital for emergent EKGs. Preparation of Patient Charts/Orders for Physician Review: Prepares EKGs for interpretation and further use by the provider Ensures that all patient charges are entered and track in the available radiology system. Distributes confirmed results to Medical Charts: Ensures each patient chart is properly created and results are mailed/delivered appropriately. Maintains patient's medical record files in a timely and efficient manner. Maintains equipment and supplies: Inspects, maintains equipment, and reports all malfunctions. Ensures that the equipment is cleaned and sterilized between patients. Ensures that supplies are ordered in a timely fashion to maintain appropriate inventory levels. EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma/GED or EKG program completion certificate OR 2 years of work experience.
