1899

A.O. Smith had built the first pressed steel car frame in the country, making its pioneering part in 1899.

1906

The company had manufactured frames for the Ford Model N in 1906, and subsequently had developed intimate ties with all the largest car manufacturers during a nearly century-long legacy in the automotive parts business.

1933

In 1933, Al Simon Sr. founded the company selling motor and industrial lubricating oils.

1948

ROHN Products LLC is proud to be the most recent addition to the heritage that is ROHN. Founded in 1948 by Dwight Rohn to manufacture small television towers, the ROHN product line and reputation has grown to be recognized as the standard in the tower industry.

In 1948, the company opened in a small airport hanger in Bellevue, Illinois, near the Peoria Airport.

1957

Tower Manufacturing Corporation was established in 1957 in Providence, Rhode Island, USA, and has grown steadily into a world class international company.

1962

By 1962, the company's expanding operation prompted a move to a bigger facility.

1968

In 1968, the tower reappeared in the logo to reflect the growth in communications products.

1970

In the early 1970's, Unarco acquired ROHN and created a ROHN division of Unarco.

1989

With the financial help of Onex, Hidden Creek was formed in June 1989 with the primary objective of acquiring automotive-related manufacturing companies.

In 1989, the first mobile cooling tower was developed at the company’s plant in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

1991

In 1991, Tower Tech decided to develop a new generation of cooling tower that would be radically different and better than other manufacturers’ towers.

1992

Most of the development work and tool costs associated with the tower were financed by the sale of the mobile tower fleet in 1992.

The first hand-laid fiberglass tower was built in 1992.

1993

Hidden Creek, led by S. A. "Tony" Johnson, bought R.J. Tower in April 1993 and emplaced Dugald "Dug" K. Campbell as its president and chief executive officer.

When Tower began its prolific rise in the automotive industry in 1993, it was an $85-million-in-sales company known as R.J. Tower Corporation.

Tower Semiconductor was founded in 1993, with the acquisition of National Semiconductor’s 150mm wafer fabrication facility in Migdal Haemek, Israel.

An initial public offering of the company’s stock was made in 1993 to finance the redesign of the modular tower.

Too, as with all Tower Tech Modular Cooling Towers produced since 1993, the thermal performance of all TTXL and TTXR Modular Cooling Towers is certified by the Cooling Technology Institute (CTI).

1994

In 1994, the company acquired Edgewood Tool & Manufacturing, based in Romulus, Michigan, and officially became Tower Automotive.

The first pultruded fiberglass tower was sold in 1994.

1995

At the time, the fiberglass parts were the largest pultruded profiles in the world and Tower Tech was awarded the Composite Structures Association Excellence in Innovation award in 1995.

1996

Next, in January 1996, the company acquired Trylon Corporation from MasoTech Inc. and four months later purchased another company from MasoTech Inc. called MasoTech Stamping Technologies Inc., based in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

1997

The acquisition, completed in April 1997, tripled the size of Tower, lifting its revenue volume to $1.3 billion.

By 1997, the company had dropped the "UNR" and had become simply ROHN.

1998

Next, in February 1998, Tower agreed to acquire a 40 percent interest in Metalurgica Caterina S.A., a supplier of structural stampings and assemblies to the Brazilian automotive market.

By 1998, Tower Tech’s phenomenal pioneering success in the temporary cooling tower industry had attracted dozens of competitors.

2001

In 2001-02, Tower Tech adopted Lean Enterprise principles and implemented a company-wide quality management process.

2004

In 2004, Canadian based Radian purchased the assets of ROHN and formed a separate ROHN division.

2008

In 2008, ROHN Products LLC became independent again and returned to the familiar red "O" logo that is recognized throughout the industry as the mark of excellence.

In 2008, Tower acquired Jazz Semiconductor’s 200mm facility (Fab 3) which increased global capacity, offered a more comprehensive technology portfolio, a larger customer base, and a stronger financial base.

2008 saw the launch of Safety-T-Varnish, an innovative zero-VOC vanishing compound technology created for employee safety and providing an environmentally-responsible product.

2013

2013 featured the launch of Saf-T-Cool, a premium coolant line with "Clean Fluid" and "Green Fluid" technology.

2016

In 2016, Tower Tech once again sold their rental fleet and exclusive rental rights in the United States and Canada.

In 2016, the company formulated Towerkem product lines specifically for machining processes in the aerospace industry.

2017

Creative Pultrusions, Inc. (CPI) announced the successful acquisition of Tower Tech (TT) on August 15th, 2017.

By 2017 the company was doing business as Tower Metalworking Fluids, emphasizing its range as a full-service solutions provider of premium metalworking fluids to a variety of industries.

2018

Tower launched the Towers MG series for magnesium machining in 2018, eliminating the need for volatile straight oils in the marketplace.

2020

In 2020, launched a new brand identity to reflect the Company’s global presence and strength, and highlight its focus to provide the highest value analog semiconductor solutions.

2020 marked the development of a complete value line of Saf-T-Cool products to compliment the premium semi-synthetic product lines.

2022

In 2022, Tower announces its commitment to its renewable resource green products, "Green Fluid" and "Clean Fluid," a line of safer and environmentally responsible manufacturing solutions.
