Job Summary: The Tower Technician III serves as the senior-level field technician responsible for leading tower crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of wireless communication towers and related infrastructure. This position plays a key role in training team members, coordinating site activities, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Serve as the lead technician on site, directing daily crew operations, and ensuring adherence to scope, and safety and quality standards •Climb and perform work on communication towers and elevated structures up to 500 feet•Perform and oversee the installation, alignment, and troubleshooting of antennas, radios, hybrid cables, connectors, and mounts•Interpret and ensure execution of construction drawings, site plans, and RF specifications•Perform advanced testing and troubleshooting, including sweep testing, PIM testing, and fiber/connector inspections•Conduct quality assurance checks and ensure all work is completed according to customer and Company standards•Maintain and inspect rigging, hoisting, and climbing equipment to ensure proper use and safety•Model safe behavior on-site and ensure crew participation in all safety protocols, meetings, and briefings •Complete required documentation accurately, including daily reports, quality checklists, and site photos•Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and vehicles•Maintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring all tools, materials, and waste are properly handled and disposed of •Assist the foreman in training, mentoring, and supporting less experienced team members in both technical skills and safety practices •Travel regularly to job sites, which may include overnight stays •Other duties as assigned Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. Tank Technician Responsibilities Inspect, Service & Repair: * Tanks and trailers to meet FHWA, FMCSA, DOT HM183, and hazmat standards. * Pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, product pumps, and piping. * Overfill systems (Scully, Civacon, Flotech, Titan Logix, Garnett). * Air brake systems, valves, sensors, dome lids, shoes, drums, pads, and rotors. * Low voltage wiring, harnesses, lights, batteries, and charging systems. * Chassis, side-shells, caps, doors, retainers, fasteners, floors, and plates. * Perform preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs. * Troubleshoot electrical and lighting systems; perform sheet metal and paint work. Installation, Welding & Fabrication: * Install add-on components (toolboxes, pumping systems, ladders, brackets). * Perform aluminum and steel MIG/TIG welding, including in confined spaces. * Fabricate hydraulic pump systems and perform wood/metal carpentry. * Complete wreck repairs and custom fabrication. * Obtain company weld test certification. Quality Checks & Reporting: * Complete Mechanic's Service Reports. * Prepare FHWA and HM183 testing documentation. * Maintain clean, organized workspaces and tools. Required Qualifications * Minimum 1 year of experience servicing tank vehicles. * Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. * Own a personal set of hand tools. * Strong mechanical knowledge of semi-trailer equipment and repair tools. * Ability to operate hand, power, pneumatic tools, and welding equipment. * Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to follow service guidelines. Preferred Qualifications * 3+ years of tank vehicle service experience. * Tank, ASE, or welding certifications. * Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus. * Willingness to work overtime as needed. Physical Demands & Work Environment * Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.). * Use of hands and arms for handling tools and materials. * Work in confined spaces and at heights. * Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, and varying temperatures. * Moderate to loud noise levels; potential risk of electrical shock. * Work may be performed in a shop, yard, or mobile service vehicle. Must be competent in understanding grade and line, Will help in completing road, bridge and culvert construction projects.
