The successful candidate will be responsible for providing multiple services in the realm of Unified Communications to include Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Instant Messaging (IM), voice over IP (VoIP) on several networks, some analog phone services, and video streaming within the Enterprise, supporting a 24x7 NOC (Network Operations Center). Responsibilities: Familiarity with the use of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Multipoint Control Unit (MCU), Telepresence Management Suite (TMS) and various other tools as required; will become familiar with the use of VC Wizard. Technical knowledge of VoIP / analog telephony systems, software, hardware, and Telecommunications standards, Cisco Unified Communications Manager. Technical knowledge of instant messaging systems, preferably Cisco Jabber. Technical knowledge of video streaming to include set top box and Vbrick. Technical knowledge of VTC equipment such as Cisco Telepresence Management Suite, Tandberg and Cisco CODECs and MCUs. Comprehensive knowledge of network topology; along with networked hardware and software tools listed above. Familiarity with VTC service and support to include scheduling, monitoring, administrative support and technical assistance to customers. Manage resource availability and conflicts for Video Networks. Possess understanding of TCP/IP, H323, E164 and SIP protocols. Ability to troubleshoot common UC issues to include identifying and correcting issues with endpoints, bandwidth saturation, profiles and misconfigurations. Assist in the development of the training, local guides, Rules of Engagement (ROE) policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as they pertain to the UC environment. Ensure compliance with network security policies and procedures. Create and report all outage notifications and network related issues according to standard operating procedures. Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance to lower skill level employees. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS * You will perform routine on-site installation, preventative maintenance, routine repair of electronic and electromechanical equipment and products. You will ensure system performance of communications equipment delivers the highest standard of service to our customers and perform level 1 maintenance restoral actions and well as provide technical support at an intermediate level in 24x7 shift. * * COMPETENCIES * Can you test and successfully turn-up new services by performing installation and configuration of equipment, associated wiring/cabling and administrative requirements as directed by senior members of the Teleport Operations Team. * You perform basic preventative/periodic maintenance checks of ground station equipment and associated sub-systems. * You provide routine level 1 maintenance that includes switching of redundant equipment, performing power reset, and verification of equipment configuration. * Expand your knowledge while participating in training in some level 2 maintenance (removal, replacement and configuration of equipment). * You perform basic components of emergency restoral procedures for ground station equipment like antennas, up- and downlink systems as well as baseband and video equipment. You will monitor the conditions of commercial services and terrestrial facilities, including the status of system alarms, station plant and facility subsystems while working with state-of-the-art monitoring systems and test equipment. You investigate and report any equipment deficiencies related to reliability, or efficiency for service operations. You escalate open issues to senior technician or more senior operations staff. You will prepare documentation, reports and updates for any service status change, maintenance and fault/repair/restoral. * QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE * Vocational training or equivalent technical education, ideally in the field of Electronic Communications. * 1 to 3 years of relevant experience. * Must be able to work in a 24x7 shift environment (days/nights) and be available for on-call/call-in responsibilities. * Basic working knowledge of Satellite Earth Station technologies relating to Teleport Operations. * General knowledge of ancillary plant systems such as HVAC, UPS, electrical switchgear and generating systems. * Capable of working on various ground station communications systems, performs replacement of major assemblies. * General understanding of RF theory and basic electronics. * Ability to determine proper methods of testing equipment and RF/IF systems chains. * Interest in learning new technologies and services, mainly related to Satellite Communications and Teleport Operations. * Good organizational, multi-tasking and team player skills. * Fluency in English. * Good customer service skills. * General PC skills and proficiency in use of "Office Suite" software. * This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee). It would be nice if you had: * General understanding of antenna drive-systems, high power amplifiers, Up/Down converters, fiber optic sub-systems, baseband equipment consisting of modems, multiplexers, broadband, IP technologies and video technologies/systems. * General working knowledge of standard test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, power meters, synthesized generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, bit error rate test sets. KEY DELIVERABLES * You will monitor the conditions of Telemetry, Tracking and Command, commercial services and terrestrial facilities, including the status of system alarms, station plant and facility subsystems while working with state-of-the-art monitoring systems and test equipment. * You will support the following equipment as directed by other Operational Centers; IP and Baseband equipment (modems, multiplexers, DVB and Broadband technology platforms) and video systems.
