Our Small, Local and Family-Owned business is looking for someone that meets the following requirements that is looking for employment.
Qualities a good applicant should have:
You should like being outside. We spend a lot of time outside, this means you may potentially be exposed to light rain, bugs here and there and the occasional dog. If you are scared of things with more than two legs or the wind this relationship may not work.
Experience is not required but you must be willing to learn about all the potential things you may encounter on a lawn to provide great service to our customers and become state certified as a pesticide applicator.
SELF STARTER (and keep going). As a technician, the majority of your day will be spent going from service to service on your own. This is a great position if you like to talk to yourself, no one will be able to judge you when you are in your van alone.
Polite and Professional. Customers like to know why you are there, what you are doing, how you are doing it and everything in between. Being polite and professional here goes a long way and a requirement.
Mechanically inclined - as a technician, daily you will need to operate and learn about our best-in-class patented Lawn Doctor equipment. If you think your car needs blinker fluid, it is likely you will struggle with this position.
Problem Solving- Looking for someone who knows to make sure the engine has gas before asking why it will not start. A little bit of common sense goes a long way here.
Being neat and organized - there are several products, tools, invoices and other various things we use daily that can become disorganized quickly. Keeping things in order can make your day ten times easier.
Driven - Driven to not only do the right thing, but be an adult and not have to be hand held through the entire process. Driven also includes knowing how to drive. We operate a fleet, if you can't drive in at least a straight line, this probably will not be a good fit. A safe and clean driving record. We drive vans stop to stop; when fully loaded these are heavy and unsafe practices are not tolerated.
NOT EASILY OFFENDED OR OVERSENSITIVE - We are looking for someone who fits our team, our culture, and our goals. We are not trying to take over earth or anything crazy but simply want to hit our goals and have fun doing it. Explicit language, cackling, and sarcasm flows through our culture without a wince, all while being professional and hitting our goals.
Trustworthiness. This is a must, we are trusting you and the customer is trusting you. Treat their lawn like your own (or better).
Forgiving - We all make mistakes, a majority of the time is just due to miscommunication. If you cannot learn from your mistakes, and proceed forward with a positive attitude, how do you grow??
Hard Working- We are not asking for you to bust your tush from dusk till dawn, we just want someone who is willing to go the extra mile to make sure our customers are happy. This also applies to supporting other members of your team, especially because they would do it for you rain or shine.
Willingness. Willingness to grow, learn, advance, move up, be proven wrong, fall a couple times and learn from it.
A POSITIVE ATTITUDE - No whiners, no bratty boots, no pessimism, no tantrums. We all have bad days, that's fine, take the day even. The energy here is positive, it is to grow Lawn Doctor, grow our team, grow our customers and grow you - this cannot be done if we don't maintain a healthy environment.
What we offer in exchange:
An awesome team - We have a very close knit team, that being said we all act like best friends and sometimes we pick at each other like brothers and sisters, but at the end of the day we are all here for one another
Understanding - To be clear, your work is NEVER more important than your family or you. Days off at times are necessary, leaving early sometimes is necessary (when not used extensively). What are some other things we think are necessary? Company lunches, snacks and drinks provided, sarcastic comments, team building dinners/breakfasts and events, thorough training, advancement opportunities, and so so so much more.
Several Bonus Opportunities - We like competition, maybe a little too much sometimes. We have several opportunities to show you how much we appreciate you through things like commission, monetary bonuses, gift cards, cook outs, family nights out, sports outings and a heck of a lot more.
Personal Growth - This is the priority. Growing our team can only happen when we grow as people. If you feel unfulfilled, confused, uncomfortable, overwhelmed or anything of the such, we may make a couple jokes to lighten the mood but tackling this will be and always has been our first priority.
Monetary Compensation - Obviously.
LEADERSHIP THAT IS HERE FOR YOU. What is a leadership team without employees that are confident in them?
What a day in the position will look like:
Arriving at the shop to gather daily invoices and schedule.
Utilize company van/truck to complete services throughout the day.
Complete services by applying treatments all while following the schedule, safety, procedures and lable instructions.
Perform evaluations on property's as necessary.
Advise customers of recommendations based on history and current conditions.
Manage own product inventory
Maintain vehicle and equipment
Completed paperwork for customers and office
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
