Responsibilities

This position requires a combination of office work and field work. This position typically requires approximately 20% out of town travel domestically. Accessibility during off-hours is required. Employee will be required to work in all weather conditions and must be able to access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment via ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts and crane baskets.
Qualifications
Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Technology OR a minimum 5 years of experience in the maintenance of medium voltage (5 kV to 15kV) electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment.

* Maintaining records of all repairs accomplished, testing procedures completed, preventive maintenance and evaluation of equipment within BHS, updating service and technical information manuals and communicating with the manufacturers as required to obtain parts and supplies for the appropriate systems.
* Keeping work areas orderly, clean and safe in addition to maintaining tools, test equipment and associated supplies.
* Installing, repairing and conducting preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment, including telephone systems, intercommunication systems, nurse call systems and audio-visual equipment and other appropriate systems (e.g., paging systems, alarm systems and patient safety communication devices) and other equipment as assigned.
Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:

* Requires the ability to work flexible hours. Hours may vary due to the importance of the telephone and intercommunication systems of the Hospital. Service on this type of equipment in an emergency situation may require work times other than during normally-scheduled working hours.
