The Alarms and Electronics Technician installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls and troubleshoots various alarms and electronic equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Works on various types of alarms and electronic equipment and related devices by performing one or a combination of the following: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, constructing, maintenance level programming and testing.
Applies technical knowledge of alarm/electronics principles, ability to determine malfunctions, and skill to put equipment in required operating condition. The equipment ‑‑ consisting of either many different kinds of systems/circuits, or multiple repetition of the same kind of circuit ‑‑ includes, but is not limited to, the following: (a) electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telephone, sonar, navigational aids), (b) digital and analog computers, (c) industrial and medical measuring and controlling equipment, (d) integrated alarms, and associated fiber optic material for the above.
Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems (i.e., those that typically cannot be solved solely by reference to manufacturers' manuals or similar documents) in working on alarm or electronic equipment. Such problems include resolving problems with equipment and/or systems where documentation is lacking or very vague.
May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications
Four years' experience in electrical/electronic or electromechanical instrumentation field.
Successful completion of two years formal training or equivalent.
One year of experience may be substituted for one year formal training.
Must be thoroughly familiar with radio transmitters, radio receivers, telemetry devices, computer hardware, data processors, audio amplifiers, CCTV, etc.
Must have a working knowledge of the National Fire Protection Association or similar Alarm Codes.
Must have a working knowledge of various fire suppression systems (i.e., Water (wet & dry), pre-action, deluge, dry chemical, foam, CO2) and how to secure them for testing.
Must have a detailed understanding of the interrelationships of systems or circuits.
Must be able to exercise independent judgment in performing such tasks as making system or circuit analysis, calculating wave forms, tracing relationships in signal flow.
Must be able to regularly use complex test instruments (e.g., dual trace oscilloscopes, deviation meters, pulse generators, volt/ohm meters, chart recorders, cable locators).
Must be able to climb ladders, pull cables, and work in confined and high spaces.
Needs to be skilled in working with up to 1-inch conduit (laying out, cutting, and bending).
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical specifications.
Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Must have and maintain hand tools of the trade to perform the normal work of the classifications.
Must meet and maintain company physical and security requirements, including respirator qualification, and clearance eligibility when required.
Must possess good communication skills for a service team environment.
Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.

Essential Functions:
Hardware Installation Management (60%)- Work on a crew of three or four field technicians that will be installing, erecting, maintaining, repairing, removing, or retrofitting towers, Small Cell and rooftop antenna systems. Will also perform third party inspections.
Hardware Commissioning (10%)- Commission (test) hardware in accordance with the prevailing contractual share of the responsibility, specifications and quality requirements and document progress in the applicable Site Folder. Will also learn commissioning services under direction of the Site Foreman.
Documentation (5%)- Must log all installation, test, close out and inspection results as directed by the Construction Manager or Site Foreman and report hours worked daily.
Quality (20%)- Responsible to assist in escalating all QA deficiencies to the Site Foreman or Field Technician III that cannot be cleared.
Fault and Discrepancy Reporting (5%) Manage the contents of an assigned build kit for the issuance of fault and/or discrepancy reports to document kit churn. Assist in ensuring defective components are promptly returned for replacement processing and will document and report equipment and material shortages immediately.
Other- Assists the Site Foreman or Field Technician III on the installation of all network elements installed on site and other equipment as applicable and directed by management team.
Job Requirements:
At least two years of construction, wind turbine installation, computer IT, solar installation or electrical experience.
High School Diploma/GED or higher
Some knowledge of SWEEP and PIM equipment.
Some understanding of basic architecture of antenna systems.
Understand some RF Design for telecommunication sites - basic RFDS knowledge.
Knowledge of power and hand tools for construction.
Previous experience working aloft in man lifts, and/or climbing.
Some understanding of basic RF and grounding safety standards for installation.
Basic knowledge of either civil construction or electrical work.
Ability to work on laptop with MS Office.
Understand and speak English.
Valid drivers license for the preceding 3 years
Have no major violations in the past 3 years (A major violation is any violation of any traffic law that may result in criminal charges and/or the suspension or revocation of your drivers license.

Normal Work Environment:
The work environment is physically demanding, and you need to be able to perform all of the tasks safely and efficiently.
The position requires the use of standard installation equipment i.e. power tools, DC crimpers, thermoweld, hand tools, etc.
The position will require either working aloft on cell towers, in a man-lift, bucket truck or climbing.
Some work will be under adverse conditions (e.g. high towers, inclement weather, remote sites, etc.) throughout the US using safety equipment and hand, power and specialty tools.
Must be able to transport required equipment and materials to work locations including remote areas to perform functions of the job using appropriate company and specialty vehicles.
Must have a current drivers license with satisfactory record for the last three years.
Must be able to maintain constant communication and interact successfully with team to understand project requirements.
Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people.
Exhibit a strong positive attitude toward and be diplomatic in resolving issues.

This position reports to the Seattle IT Radio Communications Shop Supervisor. Employee in this position will perform the following responsibilities:
* Installation, testing, maintenance and repair of commercial FM two-way radio systems and equipment including low band VHF, VHF, UHF and Motorola Motorola 7. P25 trunked radio networks, microprocessor-controlled radio transceivers, simulcast site controllers, antenna systems, multi-site microwave links, dispatch consoles, and associated telecommunications and network equipment which impact government and public safety operations for external and internal customers.
* Utilize standardized safety procedures, technical regulations, and equipment manuals to identify and resolve system and equipment problems.
* Communicate with internal City of Seattle personnel, outside service personnel, equipment vendors and other government agencies to coordinate and provide information pertaining to service requests, work orders, equipment evaluations, technical advice and complaints regarding radio system interference.
* Maintain and install DC Power Distribution Panels and perform preventive maintenance on UPS systems and DC Power Plants. Install and maintain Analog and digital telemetry systems and other digital and analog systems.
* Analyze and resolve performance and failure issues related to OSI Layers 1-2 using network testing and management resources.
* Perform related telecommunication duties commensurate with classification level.
* Position requires participation in an on-call after-hours support role, which includes a requirement to respond remotely or in-person to radio system outages. The present rotation requires being on-call for one-week periods, once per month.
* Perform related duties commensurate with classification level.
Position requires a basic understanding of IP network technology including as; understanding of Ethernet backhaul as it applies to Land Mobile Radio networks ; and requires a basic knowledge of electronics theory, circuit operation. The position also required the ability to use hand and power tools used in electronics and the ability to operate electronic test and diagnostic equipment.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to: As a Technologist, I:
Perform procedures required for laboratory function promptly and according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

This may include contacting the Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and Technologists, other Bloodworks departments, hospital coordinators and surgeons, and other organ transplant institutions.
Perform assays accurately within time expectations for emergency testing while assuring assay quality. Document when time expectations and/or test quality expectations are not met.
Technologists with less than 3 years' experience in an ASHI-approved laboratory must consult with the Director on call, Supervisor, Qualified Technologist, or Lead Technical Coordinator to review results and reports before release.
Create and review reports. Sign-off of reports will occur with a Supervisor Qualified Technologist or Lead Technical Coordinator.
Report and confirm results to the appropriate institutions/coordinators. Send reports to the proper persons and/or institutions.
Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings. Follow up on information when unable to attend.

REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Must qualify as Testing Personnel, High Complexity Testing, under CLIA personnel requirements found in Subpart M of the Code of Federal Regulations.
Bachelor of Science degree in clinical laboratory science (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Education must be comparable to a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 24 semester hours of science courses that include a minimum of 6 semester hours of Chemistry, 6 semester hours of Biology, and 12 semester hours of Chemistry, Biology, or Medical Laboratory Technology in any combination. Medical Technologist education and/or certification (ASCP) fulfills the educational qualification requirement. A bachelor's degree is required for CHT eligibility.
Current certification as an ACHI-Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) or immediate eligibility for the CHT certification exam is preferred.
For Technologists who have not yet earned certification, 12 contact hours of continuing education credits (CEC) are required every year. For Technologists with CHT certification, 6.0 CEC (60 contact hours) is required per 3-year period. Once certified, Technologists are responsible for maintaining active certification and submitting CECs to ACHI every three years.
Six months of HLA laboratory experience; otherwise, one year of technical laboratory experience is required.

A certified incumbent will advance 1 grade level, and this role offers progressive career advancement to Technologist II, Technologist III, and Technologist IV (Lead) levels.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Perform immunohematological procedures under routine and emergency protocols for antibody detection, compatibility testing, simple antibody identification, and investigation of transfusion reactions, prediction/detection of Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn, identification of RhIG candidates, and other diagnostic testing.
Understand special protocols for blood orders, including those for Pediatrics, Open Heart surgery, Liver Transplantation, ECMO, HSC, T, and other specialized transfusion protocols-process transfusion instructions from transplant programs.
Issue blood components via electronic crossmatch and remote release via the Hemosafe (where applicable).
Report results of tests performed to physicians, other health care professionals, and institutions.
Perform crossmatch testing and process orders during a computer down by accessing a downtime database and utilizing manual testing records and manual transfusion reports.
Maintain annual competency in computer downtime, downtime database, and emergency-preparedness SOPs.
Understand and follow the Good Manufacturing Process as defined in the CFR.
Perform required daily quality control on reagents and equipment; recognize invalid results and perform initial problem-solving. Participate in troubleshooting and refer unusual issues to a senior Technologist or Technical Specialist.
Operate and perform maintenance on equipment and automation used in compatibility testing and component preparation.

Education & Experience:
Must qualify as Testing Personnel, High Complexity Testing, under CLIA personnel requirements found in Subpart M of the Code of Federal Regulations. This typically requires a Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or a related field, such as chemistry, physics, or biology. This may also include an Associate of Science degree in the Medical Laboratory Technology program.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
You'll visit customers' homes, solve problems, and introduce them to smart home tech.
Install and service DISH equipment and smart home products in customers' homes
Teach customers how to use their tech and offer additional services when helpful
Keep a clean work area and maintain a professional attitude while working independently but staying connected with the team

What You'll Need:
Valid Driver's License: Clean record required
Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to travel as needed; flexible to work shifts that might include evenings, weekends, or holidays
Physical Ability:
Climb ladders (up to 40 ft)
Lift up to 70 lbs
Must meet and maintain 335 lb weight limit
Customer Focus: Build trust and create a great experience

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $23.00/Hour
