Key Responsibilities - Service Technician
The position involves the setting and testing of automation machinery prior to despatch, commissioning in customer's factories and the training of operator and maintenance personnel in the use of their equipment.
Duties - Service Technician
Setting and testing of the client's full range of equipment.
Final testing and assembly of machinery in preparation of inspection and despatch.
Installation and Commissioning of equipment.
Training of customer's staff at various levels at both the client's and customer's overseas premises.
Report writing and recommendations following all visits.
Liaise with Sales, Production and Design.
Some Worldwide travel including weekend work & travel where required.
To ensure that all relevant machine documentation is always completed accurately.
To identify opportunities for process, productivity and quality improvements by highlighting issues to management.
To actively participate in improvement projects as required.
Develop effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholder, customers and suppliers.
Qualifications & Requirements - Service Technician
Must have completed a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
Mechanically based skillset with a proven track record of mechanical assembly and fault diagnosis.
Able to use measuring equipment such as Micrometre and Vernier callipers with an attention to detail.
Able to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings.
Able to read and interpret pneumatic drawings and circuits. Fault find pneumatic circuits to component level.
Basic understanding of electrical control circuits.
Basic understanding of PLC Machine controls.
Able to write concise informative reports and offer solutions to problems.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic and able to communicate at all levels.
Must hold a valid passport and be willing to travel internationally and be very flexible in terms of working hours and travel.
Comply with the latest vaccinations, inoculations and blood tests for foreign travel.

Field Service Technician

Additional Notes
This is a 9-month field service project requiring a mix of local travel (within driving distance, home nightly) and regional travel that involves weekly overnight stays from Sunday through Thursday when flying to client sites.
Standard work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM, with occasional overtime based on travel or site workload. Even during travel weeks, Fridays will be reserved for a remote meeting with the team lead once the technician returns home.
Role is 100% onsite at client locations; no remote work outside of Friday meetings.
A valid state driver's license (Real ID compliant), a clean MVR, and a reliable personal vehicle are required for daily field travel.
Top required skills are electro-mechanical troubleshooting and printer hardware break-fix experience. A Lexmark certification is preferred but not required.

No on-call rotation and no shift differentials for this assignment.

Provide on-site technical support to internal or external customers in resolving complex or escalated technology issues on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
Install and remove equipment and systems as required.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A SUCCESSFUL TUFF SHED PERMIT TECHNICIAN
The Permit Technician is responsible for working with Tuff Shed customers and local municipal entities to obtain building permits and/or meet zoning requirements to facilitate the approved construction of Tuff Shed structures. The Permit Technician will establish relationships with local building and zoning departments in order to keep apprised of any changes in local code and/or requirements related to the building and zoning standards within their territory. This is primarily office based with occasional off-site meetings or to pick up permits from building departments.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with building departments and officials, serving as the liaison between Tuff Shed and building and zoning departments.
Communicates all required changes to Salesperson and Customer to meet jurisdictional requirements.
Works with local jurisdictions to resolve issues related to issuance of appropriate permits. This may include attending in person meetings and/or public hearings.
Prepares all required documents for acquiring required permits, including producing plot plans and other required drawings.
Tracks permit progress through the planning and building department.

Position Summary:

What You Will Do:

Minimum Qualifications Preferred:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two to five years' experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment, Genie preferred. Experience in diagnosing equipment utilizing laptop computers, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems: electronics, hydraulics, power train, engines, and general machine performance is expected.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment that requires multitasking while maintaining a high level of organization.
