POSITION SUMMARY:
A mechanical technician is responsible for performing diagnosis and repairs as assigned by service management based on individual qualifications and skill level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Reports any safety issues, machinery defects or malfunctions to service management immediately. Properly uses and maintains accountability for special service tools, shop equipment and repair manuals provided by the service department. Returns all items to their assigned location after use.

What You Will Do As A Repair Technician

Responsibilities:
* Technicians work from layouts and dimensions on drawings and reading manual gages
* Technician's load, align, and set up machines per drawings instructions and maintain quality production records.

Requirements and Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Minimum 1 year of prior experience in set-up and operations of CNC grinders, lathes, milling equipment, etc. or a graduate of any recognized machinist or toolmaker program.

* Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and be able to read shop math and have knowledge of machining methods and cutting tools.

Job Overview:
Primary purpose of the position is to build production aids (carts, racks, tool holders, basic tools, etc.) to assist manufacturing operations in Body, Paint, and Assembly Shops. Support internal customers by designing and building equipment needed to meet production goals. Focus on identifying and improving processes and using MPS (Lean) principles to implement successful results.
Responsibilities:
* Design & build manufacturing aids and equipment (e.g. carts, racks, jigs/fixtures, tool holders, etc.)
* Work with internal customers, engineers, MPS experts to design equipment to fulfill project requests
* Use data to objectively evaluate situations and build solutions which will result in measurable improvements
* Operate powered tools and equipment and computerized machines to produce project components
* Identify and reduce/eliminate manufacturing process wastes
* Provide support needed to enable team members to self-implement projects
* Be an "ambassador" for MPS and continuous improvement in the plant
* Work on time-sensitive projects to support customer goals
