The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing Mac devices at scale, ensuring uptime, optimizing performance, performing OnDemand upgrades/downgrades, and supporting production workloads. This role requires a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, especially switching technologies used in modern data centers. This is a hybrid role, with responsibilities split between Mac hardware operations (80%) and network operations support (20%). Key Responsibilities: Primary - Mac/Server Infrastructure Operations (80%) Deploy, rack, cable, and maintain Mac Studio, Mac Pro, Mac Mini, and similar Apple hardware in the data center. Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on Apple devices (hardware and basic OS-level issues). Manage device imaging, configuration, firmware updates, and lifecycle operations. Monitor system health, handle incident response, and support operational uptime SLAs. Maintain accurate asset records, labeling, inventory, and documentation. Work closely with platform/engineering teams to support CI/CD, build pipelines, and workloads running on Mac fleets. Perform iLO administration for HP and Dell machines. Secondary - Data Center & Networking Support (20%) Assist with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network switches (Arista, Juniper, etc.). Perform structured cabling (fiber and copper), patching, tracing, and labeling. Participate in switch upgrades, port provisioning, VLAN configurations, and basic L2 troubleshooting. Support network connectivity for compute hardware, out-of-band management, PDUs, and KVM components. Collaborate with network engineering to escalate and resolve complex issues. Ensure compliance with data center standards: airflow, cable management, rack power distribution, and space planning. Required Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in data center operations or hardware support roles. Hands-on experience with Mac hardware (Mac Studio, Mac Mini, Mac Pro) in production or lab environments. Strong understanding of racking, stacking, cabling, and general data center best practices. Working knowledge of network switches, Ethernet standards, and basic L2 protocols. Experience with ticketing systems, documentation, and asset tracking tools. Ability to lift and move equipment (up to ~50 lbs) and work in data center environments. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Jamf and automation workflows for Mac devices. Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, link aggregation, and network troubleshooting. Experience with remote management tools (IPMI, iDRAC, Lights Out, etc.). Understanding of OS imaging, basic scripting (Python/Bash), or automation. Past experience supporting build farms, developer infrastructure, or similar environments. Awareness of Agile practices and familiarity with ServiceNow or Wolken ticketing systems. Soft Skills: Strong communication and documentation abilities. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate across engineering, networking, and data center teams. JOB DESCRIPTION Cooling Tower Cleaning Technician (CTCT) is a specialized position focused on cleaning package and field erected cooling tower equipment as directed by OBR Foremen and/or Superintendents. A CTCT should exhibit professionalism, positive attitude and technical competence while performing duties. He/she must work diligently to assure cleaning quality and do not prevent the project from being completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to OBR quality standards. Understand special protocols for orders, including those for Pediatrics, Open Heart surgery, Liver Transplantation, ECMS, and other specialized transfusion protocols-process transfusion instructions from transplant programs. Issue blood components via electronic crossmatch and remote release via the Hemosafe (at applicable sites). Report results of tests performed to physicians, other health care professionals, and institutions. Perform cross-matching and process orders during a computer down by accessing a downtime database and utilizing manual testing records and manual transfusion reports. Maintain annual competency in computer downtime, downtime database, and emergency preparedness SOPs. Understand and follow the Good Manufacturing Process as defined in the CFR. Perform required daily quality control on reagents and equipment; recognize invalid results and perform initial problem-solving. Participate in troubleshooting and refer unusual issues to a senior Technologist or Technical Specialist. Operate and perform maintenance on equipment and automation used in compatibility testing and component preparation. Communicate equipment failures and take appropriate corrective action per organizational SOP for Control of Equipment Failure and Malfunction (BCQ 0606). Respond to temperature alarms. Appropriately document abnormal occurrences and variances from SOP using the ETQ-Reliance system in a manner such that they can be easily understood and coded adequately by departmental quality, then investigated by departmental management or delegates. Participate in quality activities, including the development and monitoring of quality indicators. Perform College of American Pathology (CAP) or other proficiency surveys and concordance testing within allotted timeframes. Requirements of this position are: Education & Experience: Must qualify as Testing Personnel, High Complexity Testing, under CLIA personnel requirements found in Subpart M of the Code of Federal Regulations. This typically requires a Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or a related field, such as chemistry, physics, or biology. This may also include an Associate of Science degree in the Medical Laboratory Technology program. One of the following is also required: Current certification as Blood Bank Technologist (BB-ASCP), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS-ASCP), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT-ASCP), or equivalent OR Immediate eligibility for certification as BB(ASCP) Technologist, MLS(ASCP), or MLT(ASCP) or equivalent OR Successful completion of an immunohematology course through an accredited institution. BB(ASCP) and/or MLS(ASCP) certification is strongly desired. Incumbents with these credentials start or advance one salary grade higher. Prior laboratory testing experience is strongly preferred. The incumbent will also need to have the following, but not limited to, specific job skills: Computer skills, including data entry and word processing. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills. To obtain access to specific client facilities, the incumbent may be required to apply for and get clearance to access the client's security. This clearance process may require the incumbent to undergo additional levels of screening beyond Bloodworks' required pre-employment screening. Significant manual dexterity is required to operate various instruments and to perform required data entry quickly and with a high degree of accuracy.
