Town of Mountain Village company history timeline
The Town of Mountain Village was incorporated on March 10, 1995 formally becoming a home rule municipality.
The first 10 employees were hired, and the first Town Council meeting was held March 29, 1995.
In 1996, Telluride linked itself to the high-altitude town of Mountain Village via the first enclosed lift in North America.
The Telluride Conference Center, a 31,000 square foot facility was opened July 1999 and today it is still owned by the town and operated by Telluride SKi & Golf Co.
The town took over the functions of MVMD which was formally dissolved in 2007, the same year that the town separated from TMVOA.
