The Town of Palm Beach was incorporated on April 17, 1911.
One of the first of these was Edward T. Stotesbury, who along with his wife Eva, had Addison Mizner build a mansion they named El Mirasol in 1919.
The Town of Palm Beach was founded during the industrial revolution, and largely built in the 1920’s.
Fatio opened his first office in New York, and later in Palm Beach in the 1920s.
The patriarch of the famous political family, Joseph P. Kennedy, bought an oceanfront mansion on the ocean in Palm Beach in 1933.
In October 1952, a three bedroom, two bath, home with refrigerator, range, and water heater could be bought for $23,000.
In November 1953, mail delivery was begun to Palm Beach Shores.
A native of South Florida, Lawrence opened Lawrence Group Architects at 205 Worth Ave. in 1965.
In April 1967, a 658 pound bear, 7 feet tall, lumbered up to the front door to the Colonnades.
In July 1967, the "Keva Ideal" with 15,000 tons of cement went aground at the mouth of the inlet.
In May 1978, the "Esso Brisbane" with 5.6 million gallons of oil ran aground but no oil was spilled.
The largest catch brought into the Sailfish Marina was a tiger shark weighing 738 lbs. on May 12, 1990.
The estate has changed hands since the Kennedy family sold it in 1995.
