The vision to manufacture great tires began in August 1945, when the founding president, Mr.
Established in 1966, Toyo Tire United StatesA. Corp. represents the innovation, quality, performance, and excellent service that Toyo Tires has delivered worldwide for more than 70 years.
In 1975, Toyo Reifen GmbH was established in Germany, the first Toyo Tires European company.
Passenger replacement tires were added to the company's product offerings in 1975, and through a network of independent tire dealers, the Toyo Tires brand began to grow in the United States.
Off-road enthusiasts embraced the Open Country M/T when it was introduced in 2003.
In 2005, Toyo Tire Europe was established as the headquarters of Toyo in Europe and parent to Toyo Tyre (UK) Ltd, Toyo Tire Benelux B.V and Toyo Tire Italia Spa.
In April 2007, the company introduced its first luxury-touring tire, the Versado LX. Developed with the same quality and performance that built the Toyo Tires reputation, the Versado LX—and the national television campaign that accompanied it—exposed the Toyo Tires brand to a whole new customer.
Toyo Tires set the pace once again in 2008, releasing the first-ever 26- and 28-inch passenger car tires.
Toyo Tyre Malaysia Sdn Bhd was established in Taiping, Malaysia on April 12, 2011 following the acquisition of Silverstone Berhad.
The highly successful Proxes T1s was followed by the Proxes T1R, Proxes T1 Sport and 2015 sees the introduction of the Proxes T1 Sport plus.
