TPC Group company history timeline
In 1944, the legacy plants in Port Neches and Houston were opened by two different companies, Neches Butane Products Co. and Sinclair Rubber, respectively.
In 2006, Texas Petrochemical bought the Port Neches campus from The Woodlands chemical company Huntsman Corp.
The largest total investment, for commercial pollution control, has depreciated by more than $60 million since its highest valuation in 2008 of $101.7 million, although the plant still pays about $1.3 million in taxes.
In 2015, TPC was fined more than $45,000 for emissions events in Port Neches.
