Pickup and delivery of cargo to and from various destinations usually within proximity of the consolidation/distribution center. The loading and unloading of trailers utilizing the same techniques, technology and procedures as a dock worker. Actual duties and schedule may vary depending on terminal location.
Responsibilities
* Load and unload cargo.
* Operate a forklift as needed.
* Exercise independent judgment regarding the building and tearing down of the trailer to utilize time, resources, energy, and physical demands effectively and efficiently, while complying with all weight distribution laws.
* Complete routine paperwork effectively, and properly log loading sheets.
* Other duties, as assigned.
* Perform various tasks ranging from check-in, tractor/trailer inspection, tractor set up, and the pickup and delivery of cargo.

This is a TOUCH FREIGHT POSITION but we will teach you how to do this safely and easily. You will be completely trained in the proper handling/delivery of the product. You will be driving a late model day cab and pulling a 48' lift gated trailer. The positions that we are interviewing are for Utility/Extra Board Drivers. These important, and high paying position, require drivers who can run any of the local, and remote domicile, delivery routes. You will be covering vacations, vacancies, training needs, etc. Training will be outstanding and the candidate must come to the table with a high level of skill, confidence and safety skills.
LOCAL ASSIGNMENTS:
$375/day. HOME DAILY. The pay will be $375 per day minimum or $1,875 for the 5 day workweek.
REMOTE DOMICLE ASSIGNMENTS:
You must also be willing to travel to cover remote domicile routes: When assigned to cover a remote domicile route you will be gone during the week but home on the weekend. Remote Domicile Routes are located in Tucson, Blythe, Flagstaff, Las Vegas, Bakersfield, Lodi, Gilroy and Los Banos. When assigned to cover a remote domicile route your travel expenses are covered and you will receive $375/day plus a per diem of $45.00 per day to offset your meal and incidental expenses. Job Description
Reporting to the Logistics Manager and Yard Site Manager the CDL-A Roll Off Driver will be responsible for preparing, loading, and unloading, securing materials to the designated locations.
Essential Duties: Operate vehicle in accordance with Ecology Recycling Services LLC., Safety Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act), DOT (Departments of Transportations) as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
Perform pre-and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment.
Report any unsafe situations or service-related issues to dispatch.
Report service problems, blocked containers, or any potential safety hazards.
Report any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to dispatch.
Ensure that equipment is kept in a good operating condition.
Perform assigned duties on roll of delivery and hauling routes.
Communicate any customer request with dispatch.
Collaborate with managers to drive projects enhancing productivity and performance without compromising quality and safety.
Complete and submit work orders and driver logs as required.
Qualifications
Class A with no restrictions and DOT Medical Certification required.
3 years of experience needed.
Must have a clean driving record and CDL truck driving experience.
Will be required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, to write correspondence, memos, and schedule.
Basic math skills required.
Problem solving, reasoning, and “thinking out of the box” will be a constant requirement; in addition, applying common sense understanding to better serve our guests' needs.
Regularly use close, distance, color and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.
Often works outdoors in both hot and cold temperatures. Occasionally works in wet areas.
Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
