Depending on your level, you ll:
Pull, dress, and label low-voltage AV cabling (Cat6, speaker cable, control cable, shielded audio cable, etc.)
Install mounting hardware, unistrut, display supports, ceiling infrastructure, and equipment racks
Terminate AV connectors including HDMI, BNC, RCA, Speakon, Phoenix, Euroblock, XLR, and RJ-45
Install and configure commercial AV systems from top manufacturers such as:
o Crestron (control, NVX, digital media)
o Extron (switchers, control, matrix routing)
o Biamp (Tesira DSP)
o QSC (Q-SYS DSP, network audio)
o Shure, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica microphones and wireless systems
o Sony, LG, Samsung commercial displays & projection systems
Rack, stack, and cable AV head-end equipment
Assist with and/or perform DSP loading, control system device deployment, and system commissioning
Install and aim speakers, projectors, screens, video walls, occupancy sensors, and AV-over-IP hardware
Read and follow AV system drawings, risers, signal flow diagrams, and SOW documents
Participate in testing, troubleshooting, tuning, and client turnover processes

Level I Helper / Entry Level
0 18 months AV or low-voltage experience
Can pull cable, install support structures, and perform basic terminations with guidance

Level II Technician

Can terminate most connectors, read drawings, and install displays/projectors
Familiarity with at least one control platform (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, etc.) is a plus
Level III Lead Technician / Senior Tech
4 7+ years AV integration experience

Qualifications

About the Opportunity / What You ll Do
As the Lead Technician, you ll be the go-to on site driving installation quality, coordinating with GC and other trades, and ensuring your crew stays efficient and productive.
You ll:
Lead technicians and helpers on commercial voice/data installation projects
Oversee installation of Cat6/Cat6A cabling, pathways, cable management, and terminations
Read and interpret floor plans, construction drawings, and build documentation
Install racks, cable tray, ladder rack, patch panels, jacks, and connectivity hardware
Perform certification testing using Fluke or similar test equipment
Coordinate daily tasks, track progress, and communicate with project supervisors
Ensure projects follow industry standards, safety practices, and customer specifications
Qualifications / Who You Are
This is a true lead role, so proven experience is required. You should have:
5+ years of commercial voice/data / structured cabling experience
1 2 years leading a crew or acting as the primary on-site point of contact
Strong skills in Cat6/Cat6A installation, termination, labeling, and testing
Demonstrated ability to train helpers and guide less experienced techs
Experience installing racks, patch panels, cable tray, and telecom room buildouts
Ability to read prints and confidently communicate scope and project needs
A reliable work ethic and professional presentation on active job sites
