JOB OVERVIEW As a Transportation Engineer, you'll work on exciting projects, including municipal roadways, roundabouts, trails, heavy highway, safety studies, green and complete street designs, and more for ODOT, LPA, and Non-LPA clients across Ohio. Your role will involve: Conducting detailed research, analyzing data, and preparing plans to support innovative design solutions. Performing field reviews to identify opportunities and constraints. Collaborating with senior staff to create CAD-generated designs and compelling visual exhibits. Providing cost estimates, documentation, and quality checks for project accuracy. Contributing to projects that enhance communities while ensuring safety and sustainability. Adhering to all quality and safety standards. Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, but not required Experience: 2-12 years of experience Certifications: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Communication and interpersonal skills. Qualifications: The ideal candidate(s) will have experience in transportation planning or engineering within a state DOT, regional planning organization, transit agency, or local government setting and possess working knowledge of designing transportation improvement projects. Candidates with a track record of designing complete streets projects are preferred. A master's degree in engineering or a related field is required, along with at least two years of professional experience. A bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience may be substituted for the master's degree. Foreign degrees and credentials will be considered. Compensation: The minimum starting pay rate is dependent on experience and qualifications.
